Senior UX Designer

Position: Senior UX Designer 

Job Location: 850 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA, 94066 

Duties: Support User Experience strategy and innovation by evaluating the current competitive landscape for compelling customer experiences; analyzing future trends and forecasts in related fields; constructing compelling artifacts outlining present conditions and proposed solutions; and presenting information within and across the organization to gain strategic alignment and encourage change. Support the continuous improvement of the creation of user experience tools, documentation, and processes by maintaining holistic viewpoint when tackling project decisions; defining solutions frameworks from a scalable and global viewpoint; contributing to the evolution of site standards; collecting feedback and industry research standards; and providing recommendations. Propose hypotheses for research. Provide inputs to modify research approaches and execution plans. Guide research processes with inputs regarding type, quality, and quantity of data and information to be collected. Verify the reliability and accuracy of the information through detailed checks. Help guide user experience design, prototyping, and specification writing projects by proposing and leading project definition activities; working with other project team members to define methods to be used, including competitive audits and secondary research; driving the creation of designs, prototypes, and specifications that will advance the company's merchandising, business, and branding objectives; presenting designs to project and business teams for review; working with engineering leads to determine the effectiveness of solutions; producing detailed design documentation and other specifications required to implement design; working with product manager and team to define documentation scope; reviewing project product requirements document (PRD) to ensure correct translation of design; and providing quality assurance (QA) feedback. Assess gaps between business expectations and user experience strategies. Leverage a deep understanding of trends in user consumption habits to develop or improve interaction design and user experience strategies. Anticipate and mitigate risks during information synthesis and arrive at possible solutions for interactive designs. Create the user experience designs (for example, user interface design comps, visual design specs, prototypes) for complex and comprehensive initiative-level projects by leading project design definition activities; defining methods to be used, including competitive audits and secondary research; driving creation of designs and specs that will advance the company's merchandising, business, and branding objectives; and presenting designs to project and business teams for review. Build and maintain customer relations to understand customer requirements/problems. Create customer journey touchpoints to anticipate product enhancements by pre-empting gaps/risks in the product experience. Simplify and improve processes to reduce turnaround times, increase effectiveness, and drive customer delight. Identify major activities and documents associated with user acceptance testing. Cite examples and types of acceptance tests for user acceptance testing. Compile a list of procedures and guidelines for test developers and end users. Explain the features and objectives of alpha and beta tests. Define and document design details with accurate design specifications in multiple formats independently. Perform visual quality assurance against a design specification and rapidly solve issues. Ensure adherence to and the usage of templates and style guides to design consistent and scalable design solutions and contribute to style guide. Define and document design details through process flows, site maps, wireframes, and functional specifications independently. 

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or the equivalent in UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Product Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, Human Computer Interaction, or related area and 1 year of experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Product Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, Human Computer Interaction, or related area and 3 years of experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area. 

Skills required: Experience with user experience research methods including user interviews and usability testing. Experience translating research findings into actionable design requirements. Experience executing journey mapping for end-to-end user experiences. Experience with information architecture including navigation and content structure. Experience with interaction design for digital products and services. Experience creating wireframes for digital interfaces. Experience designing high-fidelity user interface designs for web and mobile applications. Experience with visual design principles including layout, typography, color, and hierarchy. Experience prototyping interactive experiences to validate design concepts. Experience iterating designs based on usability testing results and feedback. Experience designing responsive interfaces across multiple screen sizes. Experience applying accessibility and usability standards to digital interfaces. Experience using design systems and reusable UI components. Experience creating design documentation and specifications for engineering handoffs. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement design solutions. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills. 

Salary Range: $127,546/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
