Clarivate is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Senior UX Researcher to join our dynamic team in the Design Hub of Barcelona Office for a Fixed Term Contract (Parental leave cover).
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, growing design community within a globally distributed team, working on new products and driving change within the organization!
The ideal candidate will be responsible for discovering our user journeys and delivering impactful insights across multiple platforms of IP Patent intelligence, search and analytics products; including Derwent Innovation, IncoPat, Innography and Analytics… This role requires a deep understanding of user-centered research and design principles and the ability to apply them to complex projects in a collaborative environment.
About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
- BS or higher in a design/technology field (e.g., UX, HCI) or a behavioral/social science (e.g., Psychology, Sociology), or equivalent experience. UX-related certifications are a plus
- 5+ years of professional experience in a research-related role
- Solid experience and understanding of UX design principles and methodologies.
- High customer experience curiosity and the passion for understanding why people behave the way they do.
- Ability to write clear and concise questions and tasks in terms test participants can understand.
- Solid command of the English language, excellent writing skills, solid proofreading and editing skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of basic statistics.

What will you be doing in this role?
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the research questions.
- Synthesize analytics, customer insight, and help data to focus research.
- Track patterns in analytics data to inform trends in usage.
- Conduct unmoderated and moderated testing/workshops, research repositories, qualitative data analysis, qualitative data analysis, etc.
- Analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data into actionable findings and insights.
- Identify competitors' strengths and weaknesses, regulatory environment, and market trends; evaluate gaps.
- Facilitate workshops within a product/project context: design thinking, discovery, requirements, stakeholder alignment, etc.
- Communicate with customer touchpoint teams to acquire relevant user data.
- Document research findings and insights into clear, impactful reports for Product and UX teams
- Develop an understanding of the customer profile/persona for products in the assigned segment.
- Integrate continuous improvement based on feedback, review research with team members, and apply best practices for research quality governance.
About the Team
You’ll be joining a UX/UI Global team with more than 50 colleagues across the globe, working on a hybrid model from Barcelona Office and being part of a local fast pace growing design community, working on new products, and infusing change in the organization!
Hours of Work
This is a full-time position at 40 hours a week (35 hours during July and August). The position is hybrid going to our office in Barcelona (next to Sagrada Familia) 2-3 times per week.
Please note that we are offering a Fixed Term Contract for parental leave cover.
