We are seeking a talented Specialty Senior Underwriter to work on our construction group captive business. Primary lines of business that we handle in the captive are Auto, GL and WC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underwriting and risk assessment within the construction industry, with expertise in handling Auto, General Liability (GL), and Workers' Compensation (WC) lines of business. Responsibilities will include evaluating risks, determining appropriate premium levels, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, the candidate should possess excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the success and growth of our construction group captive business while working in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Your Impact:
- Work with our fronting carriers to review pricing, coverage and terms and conditions of new and renewal business
- Utilize advanced analytical techniques to evaluate primary loss costs on individual accounts and a group basis, providing valuable insights into risk exposure and underwriting performance
- Responsible for loss rating accounts to determine primary loss costs on an individual account and group basis
- Provide direct oversight for day-to-day operations of the policy administration guidelines for each captive
- Work with internal partners in the claims, risk control, and account and program management departments to ensure all new business is vetted and internal processes are addressed
Successful Candidate Will Have:
- Highly effective project management skills with a self-starter aptitude and the ability to be self-directed
- Experience in loss-sensitive underwriting is advantageous, though not mandatory
- Familiarity with construction underwriting is a plus, though not essential
- 7+ years of experience in commercial underwriting
- Solid understanding of Auto, General Liability (GL), and Workers' Compensation (WC) lines of business
- Proficient in Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes
- Willingness to engage in occasional travel as necessary

At One80 Intermediaries, base pay is one part of our total compensation package, which also includes a comprehensive suite of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings. The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected base hourly pay range for this position is between $115,00 - $135,000 plus discretionary bonus. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
