Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Underwriter in Consumer Lending in Auto
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze complex consumer credit applications for auto loans.
- Evaluate credit bureau reports, income documentation, collateral valuation, and other supporting materials.
- Make sound credit decisions within established authority levels using both automated scoring systems and manual underwriting.
- Communicate decisions and rationale clearly to internal partners and customers.
- Ensure credit files are complete, accurate, and compliant with regulatory and company standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve application issues and provide recommendations.
- Maintain awareness of risk and compliance requirements throughout the underwriting process.
- 4+ years of Underwriting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of experience in underwriting, loan processing, originations, or closing.
- Strong understanding of credit principles and lending practices.
- Proficiency in reviewing financial documents and assessing creditworthiness.
- Extensive experience in auto lending or consumer finance.
- Familiarity with underwriting systems and tools.
- Strong communication and decision-making skills.
- Every Saturday working day with a rotation for Sundays
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
- Commitment to accuracy, compliance, and customer service excellence.
- Positions will be remote with a preference of proximity to our hubs in Chandler, AZ or Irving (Dallas), TX
