Job Description

User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Design:

  • Expertise in creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs that enhance the user experience.
  • Ensuring that all digital products are intuitive, accessible, and optimised for various digital platforms and channels (web, mobile and other) is crucial.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive design system and style guide that ensures consistency across all digital touchpoints.
  • Leading the design process from concept to delivery, including ideation, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, and user testing.

Technical Proficiency:

  • High proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD), Figma, Sketch, and prototyping tools.
  • High proficiency in web and mobile pages design
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of UX principles, interaction design, and usability testing

Team Management and Mentorship:

  • Experience in managing and mentoring a team of designers, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure high-quality design output and professional growth.
  • Fostering a collaborative and creative team environment is important

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams and Communication:

  • The ability to work closely with product managers, business and solution analysts, developers, architects, data analysts, and other key stakeholders to align design efforts with business goals and customer needs.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and workshops is essential for a holistic approach to digital product development.
  • Present design concepts and strategies to senior leadership and other stakeholders, articulating the rationale behind design decisions and demonstrating their impact on customer experience and business outcomes.
  • Gather and incorporate feedback from stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives

Design Systems and Standards:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive design system and style guide that ensures consistency across all digital touchpoints.
  • Establish and enforce design standards, guidelines, and best practices for all digital products and experiences.

User Research and Innovation:

  • Staying up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, technologies including best practices in digital design, particularly within the financial services and banking sectors.
  • Driving innovation by exploring new design techniques, tools, and methodologies to enhance the digital experience
  • Conduct user research to understand customer needs, behaviors, and pain points.
  • Analyze user feedback and usage data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Create user personas, journey maps, and use case scenarios to guide design decisions.

Performance Measurement and Optimization:

  • Monitoring the performance of digital designs through key metrics (e.g., engagement, conversion rates, customer satisfaction).
  • Using data and user feedback to continuously refine and optimize digital interfaces and experiences

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Presenting design concepts and strategies to senior leadership and other stakeholders, articulating the rationale behind design decisions and demonstrating their impact on customer experience and business outcomes.
  • Gathering and incorporating feedback from stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives

Experience:

  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience in digital design, UX/UI design, or a related field is crucial.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing digital products and experiences is important.
  • Experience in the financial services or banking sector is preferred
  • Strong expertise in creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs that enhance the user experience
  • Experience in managing and mentoring a team of designers, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure high-quality design output and professional growth.

Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Design, Digital Media, or similar in related field is required.
  • A Master's degree or certification in UX/UI design or a related discipline is a plus.
