Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Test Engineer to join our Bangladesh technology team. This role will lead testing and quality assurance efforts across payment channel integrations, ensuring seamless transaction processing, product stability, and adherence to fintech standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in software development in test (SDET), particularly within payment gateways, POS systems, or digital banking platforms.
Key Responsibilities1. Test Planning & ExecutionLead testing of payment channel integrations across multiple systems to ensure accuracy, reliability, and scalability.
Design and execute functional, integration, regression, and performance tests for fintech applications and POS systems.
Develop mock platforms and test environments to simulate external payment systems and APIs.
Take ownership of full-cycle project testing: plan, execute, track, and verify defect fixes.
Monitor and investigate online issues (production incidents) to identify root causes, validate fixes, and prevent recurrence.
Maintain detailed documentation of defects, test cases, and test results.
Collaborate with local and global development teams to ensure efficient resolution of software defects.
Work closely with developers to improve testing tools, frameworks, and automation efficiency.
Develop scripts or utilities to enhance test coverage, data validation, and API reliability.
Contribute to the standardization of QA processes and promote best practices across engineering teams.
Ensure compliance with international payment and POS standards such as ISO8583, EMV, PCI DSS, and relevant fintech security frameworks.
Validate all test processes against PalmPay’s internal development lifecycle (SDLC) standards and policies.
Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to support the release of high-quality financial applications.
Provide technical leadership in defining QA methodologies, reporting structures, and automation opportunities.
Participate in knowledge sharing, peer reviews, and mentoring of junior QA engineers.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of experience in software testing, including at least 2 years in fintech or payment systems.
Proven experience in manual and automated testing of payment integrations, APIs, and financial software.
Strong knowledge of Java / Java EE applications and related testing tools.
Proficiency with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, JMeter, or Postman).
Hands-on experience with API, performance, and regression testing.
Familiarity with POS systems, EMV/ISO8583 protocols, and transaction message flows.
Excellent analytical, debugging, and communication skills.
Fluency in English and Bangla (written and verbal).
Experience working in fintech, banking, or payment gateway environments.
Understanding of microservices testing, CI/CD pipelines, and API automation.
Knowledge of Linux environments and scripting languages (Python, Shell, or JavaScript).
Experience in cross-border payment systems and digital financial integrations.
