A Vertica Senior Technical Support Engineer at Rocket Software delivers advanced Tier 3 Vertica support. The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong Linux Expertise: Deep understanding of Linux distributions (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu), including file systems, memory management, and package management.
- Database Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of SQL and data warehousing concepts.
- Vertica Architecture Knowledge: Solid understanding of Vertica’s columnar architecture, including projections, encoding, and compression techniques.
- Advanced Troubleshooting Skills: Experience using Vertica Management Console and performance tuning tools to identify and resolve system bottlenecks.
- Cloud & Storage Experience: Familiarity with cloud environments, particularly object storage technologies.
- Systems & Networking Knowledge: Understanding of TCP/IP networking and containerized environments such as Kubernetes.
- Vertica Experience: Prior hands-on experience supporting or working with Vertica is strongly preferred.
