This candidate will join a well-funded, fast-growing technology startup with the unique opportunity to help build out a critical function for the company.

As our Senior Technical Recruiter, you will play a critical role in sourcing, identifying, and hiring top-tier technical talent. This role will focus on identifying candidates with expertise in modern frameworks and technologies, including JavaScript, Typescript, React, Node.js, AWS, MySQL, and React Native. As well as supporting Data, DevOps, QA and mobile team hiring. You’ll partner closely with hiring managers and the engineering team to understand the needs of our business and fill crucial technical roles. Based in Los Angeles, this position offers the opportunity to shape the future of BuildOps by finding the brightest minds in tech..  

What you will do:
  • Source & Identify Top Talent: Leverage various sourcing methods (LinkedIn, networking events, job boards) to identify and engage top candidates with expertise in JavaScript frameworks (React, Node.js), AWS, MySQL, and React Native. As well as Data Engineering (Python/SQL), QA/Automation and Mobile. 
  • Candidate Screening: Conduct initial screening interviews to evaluate technical skills, cultural fit, and overall alignment with BuildOps' mission and values.
  • Collaborate with Hiring Managers: Work closely with engineering and product teams to understand specific technical requirements, create job descriptions, and provide regular updates on the hiring pipeline.
  • Pipeline Development: Build and maintain a robust talent pipeline, fostering relationships with candidates and providing an exceptional candidate experience.
  • Market Analysis: Stay current on hiring trends, talent in the tech market, and emerging skills within the software and tech ecosystem, particularly for modern frameworks and cloud technologies.
  • Offer Negotiation & Onboarding: Partner with HR to extend offers, negotiate terms, and ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires.

What we look for:

  • 4+ years of technical recruiting experience, preferably within a SaaS company or technical agency.
  • Expertise in the tech market. 
  • Proven track record in sourcing “Full-Stack Engineering” candidates with modern web and cloud technologies such as JavaScript (React, Node.js), AWS, MySQL, and React Native.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes, languages, and frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport with candidates and hiring managers alike.
  • Experience using Greenhouse. 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for tech and the ability to engage with technical professionals on an in-depth level.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment and adapt to change. 
  • Located in one of our three hubs (Los Angeles, Raleigh, or Toronto) and able to work hybrid 3 days a week. 

Compensation:

  • $100,000 - $125,000 base annual salary + opportunities for bonuses
  • This is a contract to hire position - 6 month contract (with full benefits) and the opportunity for extension/conversion to full-time role at the end of contract.
