We’re searching for a Senior Technical Program Manager, Lidar.

In this role, you will

  • Lead end-to-end hardware program management activities for complex lidar modules including design development, experimental builds and demand, product verification and validation, and complex supply chain development.
  • Directly support the experts working on photonic integrated circuits and integrated optical products from early development through volume production.
  • Take ownership of the timeline development and execution considering top-down program constraints and bottoms-up technical development feasibility.
  • Monitor and manage program scope, risk, and change management.
  • Support the team in managing the program budget and forecast.
  • Create weekly reports and run programmatic meetings with appropriate level of detail for the respective audience. Proactively schedule discussions with cross-functional partners to address obstacles.
  • Instill an efficient program management mindset by introducing tools or processes that could improve: workflows, decision-making, change management, schedule adherence, roles and responsibilities clarification, communication plans, action tracking, budget tracking.
  • Adapt messaging associated with deep technical content to all levels of experience and leadership with the company so it is consumable by the audience.
  • Partner with multiple functions including: Photonics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Validation & Verification, Reliability, Product Integration, Manufacturing, Hardware Safety Engineering, Program Managers, and Global Supply Management (GSM).

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hardware program or project management.
  • Minimum of 2 years breaking down complex projects into manageable milestones with clear exit criteria, delivering them in a successful and timely manner, and organizing content for broad communication. 
  • Exposure to semiconductor chip design, semiconductor foundries, and Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT).
  • Experience with the following software tools: a schedule management software equivalent to SmartSheet and/or Microsoft Project, Jira, Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong ability to communicate (verbal and written) succinctly and effectively to various global audiences at all levels.
  • Master collaborator: impeccable attention to detail and organization, ability to influence, motivate, and generate goodwill with teammates while juggling multiple projects at once.
  • Solid technical aptitude and an ability to understand technical designs, challenges, and risks. 
  • Experience working or supporting supply chain initiatives: quoting, supplier selection, developing scope of work documents, working with a complex supply chain strategy.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers.
  • Experience managing a program budget.
  • Six sigma tool experience and/or 8D experience.
  • In-office, based at the Mountain View, CA office, 3+ days per week, 5 days encouraged.
  • Ability to travel 15% domestically (majority) and internationally (occasional).

The base salary range for this position is $150,000.00-$240,000.00 per year.  Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
