About the Team

The Infrastructure Engineering Product Management team drives the strategy for the Workday Technology Platform. We are responsible for the technology stack that powers Workday on Public Cloud, ensuring our platform delivers reliability, performance, and scalability for every customer workload.
Our mission is both clear and ambitious: with multiple technology stacks currently running customer workloads, we are focused on standardizing onto a single, unified platform. This is the kind of high-impact, foundational work that shapes the future of how Workday operates at scale.
We are a close-knit group that loves solving interesting technology challenges together. We partner with a large engineering organization to deliver meaningful outcomes, and we value high ownership mindsets, continuous learning, and a focus on results. If you enjoy working at the intersection of infrastructure and product strategy, this is a team where you can make a real difference.

About the Role

As a Senior Product Manager on the Infrastructure Engineering Product Management team, you will play a central role in Workday's platform consolidation efforts. You will collaborate with companies that Workday has acquired to define a roadmap and onboarding plan that brings them onto the standard Workday technology platform.

This role sits at a critical crossroads: you will need to develop a deep understanding of the platform gaps that exist across acquired companies, drive those requirements into platform engineering teams, and influence acquisition teams to adopt standard practices for infrastructure management. Your ability to build trust and alignment across a diverse set of partners will be essential.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Partnering with acquired companies to assess their current technology stacks, identify platform gaps, and define a clear roadmap for onboarding onto the standard Workday infrastructure platform

  • Translating business problems and customer needs into well-defined requirements, and driving those requirements into platform engineering teams through a prioritized backlog

  • Influencing acquisition teams to adopt Workday's standard infrastructure management practices, building alignment across organizations with different histories and workflows

  • Managing the full product lifecycle for platform onboarding initiatives, from problem definition and research through prototyping, testing, and delivery

  • Collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and leadership to ensure onboarding plans are realistic, well-sequenced, and outcome-focused

  • Analyzing data and monitoring progress to identify risks, measure success, and continuously improve the onboarding process

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another technical field

  • 4+ years of experience in a Product Management role

  • Experience managing the entire product lifecycle: defining business problems, researching customer needs, prototyping and testing new solutions, collaborating with design and engineering teams, and prioritizing an Agile development backlog

Other Qualifications

  • Familiarity with public cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with an understanding of core infrastructure domains including Compute, Containers, Networking, and Storage

  • Experience with or knowledge of open-source technologies such as Kubernetes and Istio, and an understanding of how they are used to build and operate scalable, resilient infrastructure

  • Excellent communication and influencing abilities across all levels of a large organization, as well as with external partners and collaborators, with the ability to adapt your style to different audiences and facilitate clear, effective conversations

  • An inherently collaborative approach that enables you to build trust and gain alignment across peers to successfully implement a sophisticated product roadmap, with delivery often happening across multiple teams

  • The sort of personality who takes ownership and drives initiatives end-to-end in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment

  • Excellent analytical abilities, including exploration, research, measurement, and monitoring, with the capacity to navigate fluidly between technical and business concepts

  • Experience with Scrum and other Agile development methodologies, with the ability to manage and prioritize a backlog that reflects both immediate needs and longer-term platform goals

  • Comfort working with ambiguity and multiple partners who may have different priorities, and the ability to find common ground and drive toward shared outcomes

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
