As a Senior Technical Product Manager, you will bridge the gap between technology and user experience, ensuring that our app continues to offer innovative and effective language learning tools. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including software engineers, QA, data scientists, research and marketing, to prioritize, develop, and implement features that align with our product vision. You will:

  • Platform Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and own the platform product roadmap for the app’s technical features, working with stakeholders to align on business goals and customer needs.
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Being part of the platform organization, you will need to collaborate not just with your working team but all the other product teams to ensure a seamless development and launch of new features and enhancements.
  • Feature Development: Translate product vision and user feedback into detailed technical requirements, ensuring that developers have clear, actionable tasks.
  • User-Centric Approach: Use data, A/B testing, and customer feedback to inform product decisions, continuously enhancing the user experience and app performance.
  • Technology Integration: Lead the integration of new technologies to drive the app’s innovation.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Use analytics platforms to monitor key product metrics and performance, identify opportunities for optimization, and present actionable insights to the leadership team.
  • Competitive Analysis: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market needs, and competitor offerings to keep the product competitive and innovative.

You have:

  • Technical Expertise: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Solid understanding of building platform products. Experience in content platforms or CRM will be a plus.
  • Product Management Experience: 6+ years of experience as a Technical Product Manager, preferably in an EdTech, language learning, or mobile app environment.
  • Product Management Skills: Proven experience managing product development cycles, including writing technical requirements and overseeing development sprints.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
  • Analytical Thinking: Proficient in using data and analytics to make informed product decisions. Experience with tools such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar.
  • Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively about complex technical challenges and find user-centered solutions.

What We Do

Babbel is the top-selling language learning platform.

Driven by our purpose – to create mutual understanding through language – we build products that help people connect and communicate across cultures. Through self-study lessons with Babbel, instructor-led live classes with Babbel Live, Babbel for Business, our own podcast series, and our magazine, our users can focus on using a new language in real situations with real people. And it works: studies with Yale University, City University of New York, and Michigan State University prove that Babbel gets users to speak with confidence.

The key is a blend of humanity and technology. More than 60,000 lessons in 15 languages are hand-crafted by more than 200 linguists, and user behaviour is constantly analysed to shape and improve the learner experience.

The Babbel team is as diverse as our content. Based in Berlin, Germany, and New York, USA, 1,000+ Babbelonians from over 80 nationalities represent the diverse backgrounds, characteristics, and perspectives that make each person unique. Building genuine connections with our users is what sets Babbel apart, making it the world's leading language-learning platform with more than 16 million subscriptions sold.

Founded in 2007 as the pioneering online language learning platform, we've grown steadily over the years. In 2023, Babbel was honoured with a place on Fast Company's list of the World's Most Innovative Companies, ranking 4th in the Education category
