This position designs, develops, and manages activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release, and end of life. Responsible for the full product lifecycle management, with a technical focus, including strategy, design, development, management, and end of life of new, existing or acquisition products. Leverage market insights to understand market/customer needs as well as emerging technology developments and trends to identify new opportunities or make adjustments to current product offerings. Balances deep subject matter expertise in the product, business use cases and solid technical aptitude. Accountable for delivering product performance against expectations and updates changes to a product portfolio to improve competitive position, and optimal product performance to meet customer and market needs. Accountable to and/or own the P&L. Responsible for cross-functional stakeholder management to include but not limited to design, engineering, scrum teams, business leaders, etc., functioning as technical expert with a fluency in development concepts and modern development practices. Primary Responsibilities:
- Provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise
- Functions as dedicated Technical Product Owner (TPO) on 2 right sized, preferably co-located agile development teams. Responsible for backlog prioritization and refinement according to direction from Strategic Product Management (SPM) and other TPM leads
- Be able to articulate detailed product overview, benefits, and associated personas
- Follows existing and defined requirements gathering and PI execution process while considering and suggesting improvement opportunities
- Participates and presents PI plans for teams in PI planning events
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate degree or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience in product development or product management
- 2+ years of product owner experience working on at least one agile scrum team
- Proficient understanding of the basics of the role of technical product management, agile practices/methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle ((SDLC)
- Proficient level of experience in discovery, requirement definition and user story definition
- Proficient TPM assigned complex feature work on a single, primary product
- Proficient understanding of the role of technical product management, agile practices and the SDLC. Fluent with existing product tools for tracking and user story creation (Aha, Rally)
- Proficient level of experience in discovery, requirement definition and user story definition. With minimal guidance and oversight, can write quality stories, manage team and product dependencies and accept quality enhancements
- Proven excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Business, or a related field
- Certified scrum product owner
- Experience in product tools including Aha and Rally
- Experience with healthcare IT and/or knowledge of hospital revenue cycle
