What is the opportunity? 

The Senior Documentation Specialist will organize materials and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, consistency, style, and terminology. The goal of these assignments is to maintain documentation current with product releases and enhance the information to make it more comprehensive and understandable.

What will you do? 

  • Understand system and user interaction of the core Zafin products as well as the interaction of these products with customer systems and users through studying drawings, specifications, mock-ups, and product samples and interviewing production and engineering personnel.
  • Create new material to document the system and user interaction of the core Zafin products as well as the interaction of these products with customer systems and users.
  • Edit, standardize, or make changes to existing material to reflect product changes, inaccuracies, or missing information, including but not limited to user documentation, product concepts, installation material and technical documentation.
  • Publish product documentation, extracting content into files with some post-processing. Updating formatting at source where reasonable to make it easier to publish in the future.
  • Follow processes accurately and consistently.
  • Update processes to improve results as required.
  • Take screenshots to be used as a part of product documentation, including but not limited to user documentation and product concepts.
  • Create illustrations from sketches to describe software interaction and concepts.
  • Update documentation to keep it current for product releases.
  • Update at least 3 pieces of content based upon feedback.
  • Improve completeness or enhance existing content for at least 1 significant.
  • Concentrating for long periods of time.
  • Working within a team to create standard documents in time for release.
  • Working in an agile software development environment with monthly releases in concert with development and support personnel to create content specific to a bank/installation.

Pre-Requisites:               

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology (preferred)
  • Master of Science degree (preferred)
  • Knowledge of the banking or financial industry is a plus
  • JIRA issue tracking system
  • Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Confluence Wiki Editing (preferred)
  • Document360 Editing (preferred)
  • SnagIt image capturing software
  • io drawing tool
  • Camtasia video editing software

Must have Skills:

  • Experience with picking up new technologies quickly.
  • Experience working with geographically diverse teams.
  • Experience presenting information clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated ability to write about technology in plain English.
  • Demonstrated ability to speak about technology in plain English.
  • Experience working with geographically diverse teams and cultures.
  • Confer with business analysts, software engineers, product/project managers, and customer representatives to determine subject material to be developed for publication.
