We’re searching for a Canberra‑based Senior Technical Consultant to join our Managed Services (Defence) team, so that we can continue delivering high‑quality support and sustainment services to our Defence customer. The Senior Technical Consultant will work as part of our embedded team, providing technical expertise and hands‑on support to maintain and enhance Defence’s workforce planning tool, ensuring continuity, reliability, and excellent service delivery.
Please note that we require active NV1 or NV2 security clearance for this role.
How You’ll Spend Your Time- Supporting our SQL Server–based workforce planning application to ensure reliability, performance, and accurate data outputs.
- Configuring and maintaining SQL Server, SSRS, and related application components in order to optimise system usability for Defence stakeholders.
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues across SQL, JavaScript, VB/VBA, and IIS to minimise downtime and support smooth service operation.
- Collaborating directly with Defence stakeholders and embedded team members in order to understand requirements, guide users, and provide face‑to‑face technical support.
- Contributing to sustainment activities, updates, and enhancements to support the ongoing evolution of the application and customer needs.
- Intermediate to advanced experience in SQL and application support within a technical or software environment.
- Proven success in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues in a customer‑facing setting.
- In‑depth knowledge of SQL Server, SSRS, IIS configuration, and scripting/automation using JavaScript or VB/VBA.
- Ability to commute to Canberra office and Defence site locations three days a week as part of a hybrid working model.
- Sincere interest in supporting mission‑critical systems in a Defence environment.
- A knack for working collaboratively within an embedded, customer‑focused team where communication and stakeholder engagement are key.
- Existing security clearance (minimum NV1)
