The Role
Serving as a technical thought leader and SME for our ecosystem of partners, customers, and service providers in the realm of Modern Apps & Platform Engineering, the Senior Technical Consultant works as part of the consulting team to lead the development, design, implementation and engagement leader of client solutions. Senior Technical Consultants mentor and provide direction to engineers on a project by project basis and within the broader organization as it relates to internal initiatives and indirect project support.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Designs and Implements complex, mission-critical transformational enterprise grade technical solutions for clients.
- Understanding of Azure/AWS architecture and services
- Knowledge of VMware technologies (vSphere, vSAN, NSX)
- Proficiency in core Azure/AWS services (EC2, EBS, VPC)
- Familiarity with networking concepts (VPNs, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway)
- Experience with AWS/Azure Migration Hub for assessment and planning
- Proficiency in AWS Application Migration Service (AWS MGN) or Azure Migrate
- Understanding of VMware HCX for VM migration
- Knowledge of AWS security best practices and services (IAM, Security Groups, KMS)
- Understanding of compliance frameworks relevant to AWS or Azure
- Ability to analyze and optimize costs in the AWS or Azure environment
- Skills in rightsizing AWS or Azure resources for performance and cost efficiency
- Knowledge of AWS or Azure operational best practices (monitoring, logging, automation)
- Skills in managing organizational change during migration
- Ability to upskill teams on AWS or Azure technologies and cloud security practices.
Qualifications
- Experience and Ability to “jump on a whiteboard” in front of a customer to develop a solution to a business / technology goal or challenge.
- 8+ years of IT experience and 4+ years of Cloud, Migration, Automation, Application Modernization, Digital Transformation experience.
- Strong consulting and business acumen
- Multiple certifications.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing Platform core services around Compute, Storage, Networking, Databases, Containers, Security, Identity, etc.
- Experience with organizational adoption of transformational initiatives – Platform Engineering, DevOps, DevSecOps, Cloud Transformation, Application Modernization
- Hands-on experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, ARM, CloudFormation
- Experience with using and managing deployment services such as Harness, GitHub, Ansible, Jenkins, etc. Knowledge and usage of branching strategies is required.
- Hands-on experience in programming with Python or any scripting language.
- Excellent written & verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of modern cloud-native application design principles, DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI\CD Pipelines.
- Knowledge of enterprise organizations across multiple industries and inner IT functions (e.g. Enterprise Architecture, Operations)
