Position Summary
Scientific Games LLC is looking for a self-motivated, highly experienced Senior TechOps Engineer to join a small but growing Technical Operations team that supports our player Loyalty and iLottery solutions. Our team works closely with our Infrastructure, Development, and testing teams, identifying issues while also suggesting and implementing corrective actions. You will work on both standard support issues - ensuring a smooth operation of our platform, and on project specific work including new product releases, enhancements and upgrades of the product for existing and new customers.
Successful candidates will have a technical background focused on Windows Server operations, supporting .Net web applications and services, and a basic to intermediate level of competence with SQL Server database administration tasks. Familiarity with IIS, AlwaysOn Availability Groups, and running highly available, multi-data center solutions is highly preferred.
Job Duties / Key Accountabilities
- Provides tier 2 support for the ESB, Shared Services, METAL, SciTrak, GemIntelligence, and GemRetailer lottery servers and services. Supports other platforms as required.
- Support new customer implementations as well as support and maintain existing customer solutions.
- Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with system availability, latency, or performance.
- Ensure system capacity is being monitored and considered in planning.
- Identify and address system security concerns
- Ensure Incidents assigned to the team are being managed within agreed SLAs
- Define, refine, and track Service Level Objectives
- Setup and maintain monitoring of system and ensure all alarms are documented in up-to-date Knowledge Base Articles
- Train Tech Ops Engineers, site management, and QA as needed
- Participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation
Qualifications
Qualifications / Skills / Knowledge
Required:
- 5+ years of experience working in system administration role in a high demand, highly available environment
- SME level knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server with a focus on system administration, configuration, and diagnostics
- SME level knowledge of Active Directory and domain administration
- Solid Knowlege of Ubuntu Linux Server
- Solid understanding of SQL Server database engine (2016+) including configuration, data analysis, and replications including AOAG Basic understanding of network principals (TCP/UDP ports, network separation, network virtualization)
- Strong technical problem-solving skills and working knowledge of common protocols such as SFTP, SSH, SMTP, DNS, and HTTP/S
- Proven communication, presentation, and documentation skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills required
- Time management and prioritization skills/able to work under pressure and multi-task.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
Desired:
- Experience with Zabbix
- Some experience with Docker and Containerization tech.
- Experience with Outsystems
- Understanding public DNS maintenance
- Experience with WAF creation and maintenance tools such as Imperva and Cloudfare.
- Master’s degree with 5+ years’ experience
Education/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences with 7+ years’ experience with Windows Server.
