The Rocket Money Engineering team is comprised of full-stack problem solvers, infrastructure builders, accessibility advocates, quality champions, systems thinkers, musicians, woodworkers, writers, actors, and more.

We’re growing our team and are looking for Engineering leaders who are committed to building an equitable, healthy work environment where team members are supported in refining their crafts and growing both personally and professionally.


  • Work with a high level of autonomy and know when to escalate concerns or collect feedback. You’ll own day-to-day decisions and have space to iterate on team norms and processes.
  • Manage one or more teams of engineers and ensure a supportive and effective working environment by holding regular check-ins and delivering performance reviews.
  • Foster strong working relationships with cross-functional counterparts where problems are addressed directly, and decisions are made based on whats best for our users, team members, and business.
  • Create ambitious yet achievable quarterly roadmaps that drive our business forward, deliver great user experiences, and improve the long-term health of our systems.
  • Be accountable for making, measuring, and delivering on team commitments, as well as pivoting when necessary in order to keep the team focused on the most impactful work.
  • Challenge assumptions and embrace transformation to solve organizational problems in partnership with other engineering leaders.
  • Invest in your team by building and supporting growth plans with engineers and identifying opportunities to grow the team thoughtfully in partnership with engineering leadership and our People Team.


  • You are an engineer by trade, with a history of shipping production code and working with product teams to design & build user-friendly features.
  • You have 2+ years of experience managing one or more engineering teams.
  • You're excited to discuss high-level architecture and technical direction but comfortable deferring to the engineers and technical leads on the implementation.
  • You can tailor your management style to suit your employees, identifying where some people might succeed with a more hands-off approach than others.
  • Experience with FinTech or consumer apps is a plus.

Additional information: Salary range of $170,000 - $200,000/year + bonus + benefits. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
