About the Firm
We are representing a growing, full-service CPA firm serving clients nationally across a broad range of tax, advisory, and consulting services. Our client has built a reputation on proactive, forward-looking tax strategy — helping individuals, businesses, and family offices not just stay compliant, but genuinely keep more of what they earn. The firm operates with a tight-knit, relationship-driven culture and a track record of exceptional staff retention, which speaks to how they treat their people.
About the Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to support a growing volume of complex transactional and technical tax work. The firm has an expanding base of private equity and family office relationships, and an existing client base increasingly engaged in sophisticated transactions and tax strategies — and they need someone who can handle the technical heavy lifting. This is primarily a preparation role with a small review component, and it is a great opportunity for a technically strong tax professional who thrives on complexity and wants to work on high-value, intellectually challenging work in a fully remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare complex partnership and corporate tax returns involving transactional tax matters, including partner and shareholder sales and redemptions, asset sales, part-sale/part-rollover transactions, and taxable and tax-free reorganizations
Handle 704(b) waterfall allocations, 704(c) tracking, and 743(b)/734(b) basis adjustments
Prepare returns and work papers involving complex book-to-tax adjustments and multi-state tax exposure
Support 1031 exchange transactions and related reporting
Serve clients in the private equity and family office space as those relationships continue to grow
Collaborate with senior team members on technical research and issue resolution, with opportunities to take on review responsibilities as the role evolves
Manage multiple engagements simultaneously with accuracy and attention to detail
Requirements
2+ years of public accounting experience with meaningful exposure to complex partnership and/or transactional tax work
Working knowledge of Subchapter K, including 704(b)/(c) and 743(b)/734(b) concepts
Experience with transactional tax matters — M&A, reorganizations, or similar — strongly preferred
Multi-state tax experience a plus
CPA or EA preferred
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's in Taxation a plus
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and communicate clearly on technical matters
Benefits
Base salary: $80k-$100k, commensurate with experience
Annual discretionary bonus up to 10%
20 days PTO; overtime beyond 40 hours converts to additional comp time
100% company-paid family health and dental insurance premiums
