Aprio is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join our growing Private Client Services (PCS) team. In this role you'll have the opportunity to work on sophisticated client engagements, develop your technical skills, and gain valuable exposure to leadership while helping build the next chapter of our Pacific Northwest practice.
This role is ideally based in Portland, Oregon, with a hybrid work schedule, though we're open to exceptional candidates throughout the Pacific Northwest, including Seattle, who can support occasional in-person team and client needs.

Responsibilities:
- Preparing and reviewing federal and state tax returns for partnerships, S corporations, C Corporations, individuals, and some trust and estate engagements
- Reviewing workpapers, trial balances, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Taking ownership of assigned engagements and helping drive projects through completion
- Researching tax issues and identifying planning opportunities for clients
- Collaborating with clients to gather information and resolve tax-related questions
- Responding to review comments and managing revisions efficiently
- Supporting tax planning and consulting engagements across a variety of industries
- Mentoring and developing junior team members through coaching and review of their work
- Building strong relationships with clients through proactive communication and exceptional service
- Working closely with managers and partners to deliver high-quality client outcomes
As a Senior Tax Associate, your typical day may include:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 2-5 years of public accounting tax experience
- Experience preparing and reviewing tax returns for partnerships, S corporations, corporations, and individuals
- Strong understanding of flow-through entities and closely held businesses
- Experience reviewing workpapers and trial balances
- Ability to manage multiple engagements successfully
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and CPA firm operations
- Experience working directly with clients and building trusted relationships
- Strong proficiency with tax software and related technology tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- CPA or EA designation (preferred)
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Recent work experience with an accounting firm
- 3-5 years of federal tax consulting and/or compliance experience in public accounting
- Experience with Corporate, S-Corporation, and/or Partnership tax returns
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Computer expertise, including knowledge of tax software and technology
- Licensed CPA or Enrolled Agent
