About the Job
Xendit is looking for a sensible and enthusiastic person to join the Philippines Tax team to prepare the monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns and other required filings with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and local authorities. The Senior Tax Associate will ensure the Xendit's timely and accurate corporate compliance with the BIR's tax rules, memoranda and regulations. Also, the Senior Tax Associate is responsible for assisting the Finance and Accounting Department in maintaining the reconciliation of the accounting and tax books.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a fast-growing environment with experience being audited by Big 4 accounting firms
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience working in one of the Big 4 accounting firms
- At least 2 years of experience in tax filing and tax audit
- Experienced in using Computerized Accounting System particularly Oracle NetSuite
- Well versed in Philippine tax rules, memoranda and regulations
- Experience in developing SOPs and a structured approach to processes
- Detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality work
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, showing initiative and a strong goal-oriented mindset
- Team player and have great ownership mentality and have proven you can push towards a goal by yourself
- Pick up new skills quickly using a combination of self-exploration and relationship building
- Advanced communication skills both verbal and written
- Proficient in Google apps (e.g. google docs, google sheets, google slides) and slack
Responsibilities
Tax Knowledge and Analysis
- Timely prepares tax schedules and other reports for filing with the BIR and local authorities
- Ensures that all tax schedules and other reports are properly supported
- Experienced and knowledgeable in manual eBIR forms, Electronic Filing and Payment System (EFPS) and processing online BIR payments
- Assist in the preparation of the BIR Form 1709 and other necessary requirements for the related party transactions disclosures
- Assist in addressing various day-to-day tax issues that relate to the Xendit's business operations
- Keep up-to-date with the current tax laws, memoranda and regulations.
- Maintenance of tax corporate documents for filing with the BIR and local authorities.
- Other ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned.
Reconciliation
- Assist in maintaining reconciliation of accounting and tax books to support future queries by stakeholders of Xendit and regulatory bodies in the Philippines.
Group Tax Reporting
- Assist in the coordination with the Global Tax Department for any global requirements and documentations needed.
Efficiency Optimization
- Propose solutions and assist in managing automation projects.
- Develop SOPs to maximize the efficiency and scalability of the accounting department.
