As a Senior Tax Associate focusing on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), you will be involved in all aspects of the M&A process. You will work closely with other Tax team members as well as the Corporate Development, Legal, Treasury, Accounting and Finance departments. You will be involved in different aspects of federal and state tax compliance and tax provision work, and depending on your career goals, will also have opportunities to become involved with federal, international, or state/local special tax projects.
This position follows a hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will primarily focus on the following:
- Assisting with tax due diligence for acquisitions and investments
- Assisting with evaluating the tax implications for dispositions and internal restructuring
- Assisting Tax leadership with researching and providing tax advice on structuring acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, internal reorganizations, etc.
- Assisting with the review of purchase agreements, legal agreements, and other relevant agreements from a tax perspective
- Conducting technical research for the analysis of proposed and existing tax laws, regulations, and rulings
- Preparing internal stock basis calculations
- Successfully collaborating with other functional tax groups and corporate functions
- Assisting with other core tax processes including but not limited to the preparation of tax returns, tax provisions, and other tax projects

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (Accounting, Finance, or similar degree relevant to position), or advanced degree
- 1+ years of tax or accounting experience in a public accounting firm, law firm, or equivalent experience in a large corporate tax department (advanced degree may substitute for experience)
- Ability to prioritize assignments and manage workload within statutory and internal deadlines
- Solid analytical and critical thinking skills with a pragmatic approach to resolving issues
- Solid computer knowledge and skills including intermediate proficiency with MS Office
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or graduate degree (e.g., Masters of Tax, law degree, MBA, etc.)
- Experience with mergers and acquisition tax concepts
- OneSource or equivalent income tax compliance software experience
- ASC 740 (Income tax accounting) experience
- SSAP 101 (Insurance tax accounting) experience
- Exhibit an understanding of federal income taxes as well as online tax research
- Ability to use pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise
- Solid organizational and verbal/written communication skills
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $60,200 - $107,400 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
