Job DescriptionWe are looking for a motivated, decisive and practical Senior Tax Advisory Manager (12 month maternity cover) to join our team. Our Tax team makes sure that we operate policies and governance procedures that aim to ensure we comply with tax laws in every territory we do business. With a high level of autonomy and responsibility, you’ll work across teams at Wise to manage our overall tax strategy, reducing risks, costs and keeping us compliant.
Your mission
- Work as a key member of the tax team to provide international and complex tax advice for new products, business initiatives and cross-functional projects.
- Build strong relationships with business partners and guide the business with providing timely, accurate, practical and proactive tax advice to the business e.g. on topics such as partner contracts, complex product expansion and structuring.
- Work closely with the rest of the Tax team (comprising indirect tax, transfer pricing, operational tax / information reporting and regional tax) to ensure alignment on positions taken, collaborative working on cross-dependencies and translate advisory positions into robust tax filing positions.
- Provide support to certain tax audits raised around the world, requiring fast delivery of information to meet deadlines.
- Build up a network and work efficiently with external advisors to manage tax exposures and be up to date on law changes or changes in interpretation of tax laws.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of internal tax policies, control uplift initiatives and governance.

- Work in an international Tax & Finance Team and learn a lot about tax around the world, fintech and driving financial sustainability of a fast growing company.
- Join a young, energetic tax team of 22 (actively growing). The team is currently based in London, Tallinn, Singapore, Austin and Sao Paulo.
About you
- You have at least 8 years direct tax experience (ideally a combination of big-4 and in-house) with significant exposure to international tax advisory.
- Able to clearly communicate complex matters to a range of stakeholders in a simple, structured way.
- Organised person, who is able to think and respond to problems in an agile manner.
- You have the ability to work with and influence stakeholders on tax matters at all levels of internal and external stakeholders.

Employees engage in a combination of remote and on-site work.
We expect new joiners in the office most days to build connections and learn from colleagues for their first six months. After that, most Wisers split their working week between the office and home, typically coming in at least 12 times a month.
