About the role

Crunchtime is seeking a hardworking, detail-oriented, Senior Tax Accountant to develop and manage the Annual Tax Compliance Calendar, drive tax planning activities for timely and accurate tax reporting, manage transfer pricing, and prepare income tax provision. Responsibilities will include collaborating with external partners and international subsidiaries. You will have process management responsibilities and will report directly to the Corporate Controller.

What you’ll do as Senior Tax Accountant

  • Development and implement strategic tax planning for all federal, state, and local taxes, as well as sales and use taxes across multiple states
  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations, filing requirements, and deadlines, minimizing tax liabilities and maximizing compliance
  • Prepare tax returns, quarterly and annual tax reports, and other required documents
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and that tax implications are properly accounted for in financial statements
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the potential impact to management, and adjust strategies accordingly
  • Assist Corporate Controller to develop and implement internal policies and procedures for tax compliance
  • Educate and guide team members on tax-related matters and best practices 
  • Other duties as assigned

What we’re looking for

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in corporate tax, with specific experience in SaaS or technology companies
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting, with specific expertise in sales and use tax across multiple states
  • Demonstrable experience with NOL considerations and Section 382 analysis
  • Proven experience in R&D tax credit identification and documentation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, experience in effectively communicating financial information to key stakeholders.
  • Detailed command of GAAP reporting requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-state tax compliance and strategy
  • Strong executional capability, a can-do attitude, ability to shift priorities quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines

Nice to haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Tax
  • CPA and/or Big 4 experience
  • Experience in a fast-growing technology industry
  • Exposure to international tax regulations and Transfer Pricing
  • Knowledge of hardware accounting practices and business models.
