Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Senior to support the global tax function of a multinational corporation. This role is responsible for managing compliance, reporting, and planning activities related to sales and indirect tax, income tax, and business registrations across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical tax knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and experience working in a complex, multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Indirect Tax
Manage the preparation, review, and filing of sales and use tax returns across U.S. states and indirect tax filings in Canada, and reconcile related balances to the general ledger
Ensure accurate tax determination and compliance in billing systems and ERP platforms
Support audits and inquiries from tax authorities related to indirect taxes
Collaborate with finance and operations teams to improve indirect tax processes and controls
Income Tax
Assist in the preparation of federal, state, and international income tax provisions under ASC 740
Work with the outsourced tax service provider on the preparation of income tax provisions, federal and state income tax returns, and related supporting schedules
Coordinate and prepare PBC (Prepared by Client) requests by gathering trial balances, fixed asset details, apportionment data, and other required documentation
Coordinate with the outsourced tax service provider on the R&D tax credit study, including collecting supporting documentation, managing information requests, and reviewing draft calculations and analysis for completeness and accuracy
Research open items, respond to questions from the outsourced provider, and help resolve issues in a timely manner
Support transfer pricing documentation and intercompany transactions
Analyze tax implications of business transactions, restructurings, and new initiatives
Business Registrations & Compliance
Manage business registrations and renewals across jurisdictions
Ensure compliance with local regulatory and tax authority requirements
Coordinate with external advisors and government agencies for entity setup and maintenance
Maintain a database of entity registrations, licenses, compliance deadlines, and the tax calendar
Monitor filing due dates and help ensure timely completion of registration, renewal, and tax compliance requirements
General & Strategic Support
Support tax audits, notices, and controversy matters
Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, accounting, and operations
Maintain proper documentation and support for all tax filings and positions
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA or progress toward CPA preferred
3-5 years of relevant tax experience, preferably in a multinational corporation or public accounting firm
Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax concepts and indirect tax compliance
Experience working with outsourced tax providers or external advisors preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong data analysis skills
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with multi-jurisdictional filings, business registrations, and tax calendar management
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
