The System Engineer analyzes user requirements and develops Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and high-level system architectures to derive comprehensive system requirements specifications. This role leads the analysis of system requirements and drives design and development activities across the lifecycle.
The System Engineer collaborates closely with users to refine and formalize requirements, evaluates alternative solutions, and conducts feasibility studies to inform decision-making. As the primary Technical Lead, this individual ensures the seamless integration of requirements, system design, and enabling technologies.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, documenting, and implementing data flow requirements.
- Proven ability to plan, design, and integrate secure, compliant data flow solutions aligned with legal, policy, and regulatory directives.
- Familiarity with mission data formats across multiple organizations and systems.
- Experience reviewing, processing, and generating Dataflow Management Requests (DMRs).
- Ability to translate analytical needs into clear, actionable data and system requirements.
- Experience providing customer support to address data flow inquiries, including NPE requests, data remarking, and related data actions.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders and provide status updates on ERB-related topics; represent the organization in external forums and meetings.
- Provide technical leadership across the full system lifecycle, including requirements elicitation, analysis, functional allocation, architecture development, interface definition, integration, testing, and end-to-end data flow analysis for complex hardware/software systems.
- Develop and deliver metrics, statistics, and visual reporting (e.g., charts and graphics) to support communications such as newsletters.

- Twenty (20) years of Systems Engineering experience on programs of similar scope, type, and complexity, with demonstrated expertise in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited institution; in lieu of a degree, an additional five (5) years of relevant Systems Engineering experience may be substituted

Target Salary Range$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
