Job Summary
The IT Senior Systems Engineer is a trusted technology leader to the Global IT organization, responsible for leading the implementation, maintenance, and ongoing optimization of enterprise infrastructure systems and services. This role supports both operational and project-based work, with responsibilities driven by business needs. As an IT Senior Systems Engineer, you will collaborate across global teams to support global infrastructure in modernizing legacy infrastructure, enhance automation, and ensure lifecycle and patching hygiene all while aligning with ITIL-based processes and standards.
The ideal candidate is proactive and passionate about leveraging technology to improve system availability, operational reliability, and security. They will play a critical role in maintaining a stable and resilient global infrastructure that supports ZOLL business operations and mission to improve patient outcomes worldwide.
Essential Functions

  • Ensure implementation and maintenance of infrastructure configurations according to established best practices and enterprise standards, proactively identifying and resolving potential configuration issues to ensure optimal system stability and performance.

  • Continuously assess and optimize IT infrastructure performance and configuration data to identify potential issues and proactively resolve them.

  • Develop and execute strategic infrastructure initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders across departments to align technical solutions with business objectives.

  • Develop and implement proactive maintenance strategies for IT infrastructure systems, identifying potential vulnerabilities and mitigating risks before they impact operations.

  • Represent the IT Infrastructure team and technologies to business stakeholders and in large global projects.

  • Utilize established ITIL-based processes and corporate ticketing systems to ensure consistent and efficient resolution of IT issues and requests.

  • Resolve complex incidents and escalated tickets, leveraging expertise and collaborating with colleagues or working independently to ensure timely resolution and minimal impact on business operations.

  • Develop detailed technical documentation and diagrams to support operational procedures.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, internal IT teams, and external vendors, to design, implement, and maintain and troubleshoot IT infrastructure solutions.

  • Leverage technical expertise to design and implement resilient infrastructure solutions that minimize downtime and facilitate timely recovery from disasters.

  • Develop and implement automation to enhance efficiency, create self-service capabilities, and improve the reliability of IT systems.

  • Stay current with developments in systems technology and recommend ways to take advantage of new innovations and advancements.

  • Respond to system failures and provide after-hours support, including participating in an on-call rotation, as required.

  • Work with colleagues in team-based focus groups to address specific initiatives and contribute to shared goals.

  • Contribute to high-performing teams through collaboration, communication, and knowledge sharing with colleagues across the organization

  • Provide mentoring and guidance to other team members, sharing expertise and supporting professional development as needed.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree CIS, MIS, IT, or a related field or equivalent experience.

  • 10+ years prior industry experience (Enterprise preferred).

  • 7-9 years Experience designing, implementing and managing enterprise datacenter platforms.

  • 7-9 years Advanced understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Certificates (PKI), Switching, Firewalling, Virtual Networking.

  • 7-9 years Extensive working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting complex Linux/Windows-based environments.

  • 7-9 years Possessing a current certification relevant to the support technology field is preferred (e.g., Windows Server Administrator, VMware Certified Professional, NetApp Certified Professional, etc.).

  • 7-9 years Experience in multi-site datacenter operations, including onsite hands-on support for server hardware, network equipment, and cabling.

  • 7-9 years Proven ability to troubleshoot and remediate hardware and network issues in a fast-paced data center environment. Experience resolving critical incidents and minimizing downtime.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate ideas and information, effectively relating to others to accomplish work responsibilities.

  • Advanced automation skills using PowerShell or other scripting and orchestration tools to streamline administration tasks.

  • Ability to travel as needed (up to 10%)

The annual salary for this position is:

$110,000.00 to $125,000.00
