Job Responsibilities:
Major Responsibilities:
  • Support ERP systems related to Server Infrastructure and Backups
  • Support the Networking Systems for Office and Shopfloor (Cisco). VLANs, Routing, Switching etc.
  • Maintain Backup System of File Servers, Databases and VM's and any other critical data systems.
  • Administrate Server data centres (VMWare, VSphere, Hyperconverged,AS400)
  • Assist in the definition of purchasing recommendations
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for the IT HelpDesk.
  • Assist in the analysis, design, and provide support during implementation on IT projects
  • Create and maintain knowledgebase library for owned systems
  • Prioritize and manage application upgrades, participate in new Network, Hardware and Software implementations
  • Support continuous improvement.
  • Deliver additional IT related activities by supporting the helpdesk and project teams as required
  • Helps to maintain shop floor systems such as barcode printers, thin clients, RF terminals and TV Andon displays
  • Works with IT staff to resolve and non-compliance issues according Magna IT General Compliance procedures and policies
  • Participate in off-hours user and IT system support if needed (i.e. after hours, weekends)

Knowledge and Education:
  • College Diploma in Computer Systems/Science or comparable experience
  • Minimum of 3 year's experience in Information Technology with networking and server administration
  • CCNA or MCSA Certificates Required
  • Good to have ITIL v3 Foundations and/or Beyond
  • Strong background in Cisco CLI, NAT, Routing and VLAN concepts
  • Familiar with EDI, Bar Coding & Scanning systems, router and switch configuration
  • Familiar with PowerBi
  • Able to prepare, read, write and interpret reports, instructions, procedures
  • Experience with IT Help Desk software and ticket management;
  • Must be a collaborative team player
  • Must have strong English written and verbal skills
  • Able to work flexible hours to be available to three shifts when production is scheduled
  • Not required but a plus-Knowledge of Backup System Procedures with Tape Drives and Software Managing Backups, Shell Scripting, Databases using SQL and query tools in order to extract data.

Work Environment:
Office environment with work required on the shop floor on an occasional basis. Required to be on-call at times and occasional evening or weekend work to meet deadlines.
