Within NVIDIA, the Tegra Software unit is building chips, systems and software that are powering autonomous vehicles, gaming consoles, robotics platforms and AI at Edge for todays and tomorrow’s needs. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to tackle the challenges for the projects in video and multimedia areas that span from pre-silicon chips to complex use cases involving multimedia aspects. The team works on and develops performant, feature reach and safe multimedia software on Tegra Application Processors. The team also works on innovative video algorithms which help optimize video quality and streaming requirements of use cases. As a team member, you will be working to drive and deliver solutions for the latest and most exciting problems in video processing, pioneering video coding standards, performance, and power optimizations.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Build and deliver highly optimized system software for Video subsystem.

  • Develop the Software in compliance with safety standards.

  • Be accountable for results

  • Make the right technical choices and tradeoffs governed by data driven development

  • Collaborate with multi-functional software teams contributing to roadmap

  • Optimize end to end use cases involving video subsystem

  • Continuous improvement of quality and performance of the software and set a higher standard

What we need to see:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in computers, Electrical, Electronics Engineering or related field

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in embedded SW development in video and multimedia processing.

  • Strong technical abilities including experience in C programming, modern C++, Python scripting

  • Experience in digital video sub systems

  • Experience in implementing video compression standards

  • Established track record in formulating pre and post-processing algorithms for digital video pipelines.

  • Experience of working on DL/ML and CV algorithms connected to video compression and multimedia systems.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Knowledge of state of art Video compression standards

  • Hands on implementation of algorithms in Cuda, Shaders on GPU.

  • Exposure to DL/ML techniques on DL frameworks

  • Experience in ARM architecture

  • Knowledge of ASPICE and ISO – 26262 safety standards
