The Role

Join the NVIDIA Developer Tools team and empower engineers throughout the world developing innovative products in Automotive, VR, Gaming, Deep Learning, and High Performance Computing! See your efforts in action as developers use your tools to profile and analyze the performance of their applications and systems. Innovate as you develop the performance analysis capability of future generations of NVIDIA GPUs. The successful Profiling Tools Engineer will work with the NVIDIA Compute Tools team to build tools to enable developers worldwide to harness the full power of NVIDIA GPUs.

We are seeking a software developer to join our effort to advance the state of performance analysis and tuning for GPUs. You will apply knowledge of compute programming models and compute architecture to craft tools that provide useful feedback to compute developers. You will be working on our existing profiler stack and application code, interact with other teams within NVIDIA, as well as innovating the next big features in our tools.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop compute performance analysis tools for GPUs running on Linux, Windows, and embedded operating systems.

  • Work with tools, architecture, and driver teams to design, implement and verify new features in the compute profiler stack.

  • Write fast, effective, maintainable, reliable, and well documented code.

  • Work closely with internal and external partners including other peer organizations within NVIDIA.

  • Provide peer reviews to other specialists including feedback on performance, scalability, and correctness.

  • Document requirements and designs, and review documents with partners.

  • Demonstrate growth in technical and non-technical abilities.

What we need to see:

  • PhD or equivalent experience in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.

  • 5+ years of software development experience.

  • Strong programming ability in C, C++ and scripting languages.

  • Strong software design and debugging skills.

  • Extensive hands-on programming experience.

  • Knowledge of a GPU Compute API such as CUDA, OpenCL, or similar.

  • Experience of assembly code patching on CPUs or GPUs.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience in writing performance or correctness tools.

  • Familiarity with tools for performance analysis.

  • Background in the field that requires high performance computing.

  • Knowledge of GPU hardware architecture and compiler technologies.

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 152,000 USD - 241,500 USD for Level 3, and 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD for Level 4.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
