The senior system engineer will be a part of the IT systems team responsible for architecting, building, and managing Probe’s system infrastructure. They are expected to be involved with critical project work where they need to be responsible for designing, implementation & documenting the overall setup of key technologies. They will be the face of the IT Systems team while dealing with external clients, stakeholders, and vendors. As a senior member of a team with a diverse range of skills and technical levels, they will be mentoring on the key technologies.
Main Responsibilities:
● Essential technical skills
○ Design, Architect and Administration of Windows Servers, Active Directory, GPO, DHCP, DNS ○ Design, Architect and Administration of Virtualisation Platforms (Hyper-V with SCVMM)
○ Physical server and storage infrastructure (Netapp & Dell SANs)
○ Experience with enterprise infrastructure architecture, disaster recovery and data-center migrations.
○ Experience with cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure)
● Highly Desirable
○ Experience with identity management tools such as OKTA, MS Azure, etc.
○ Automation skills using PowerShell, Python, or any desirable scripting language ○ Microsoft internal and public certificate management
○ Backup solutions (Veeam and Backup Exec)
○ Sound experience in configuring and managing virtual networking ○ Knowledge sharing and upskilling of junior engineers
● Non-technical
○ Follow industry standard (ITIL) change management, incident management & problem management
○ Ensure a safe, healthy, and sustainable workplace for all employees and contractors, report workplace hazards, and provide a safe and positive workplace.
○ Participate in weekly team meetings and contribute to overall team learnings
○ Comply with and execute other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by management

Key Skills and Personality Traits:
● Experience with architecting and implementation of virtualisation technologies such as Microsoft Hyper-V
● Experience with architecting and implementation in key Microsoft server roles (Active Directory, Office365, Windows Server)
● Experience in designing, managing, and implementing DHCP & DNS Servers
● Have an analytical and structured approach to problem-solving
● Experience with architecting and implementing Backup/Replication Technologies such as Veeam and Backup Exec
● Excellent communication skills
● Proven project coordination skills
● Ability to resolve problems professionally and systematically in highly stressful environments
● Ability to document solutions, systems, and changes
● Ability to plan and prioritise own workload according to the business requirements
Qualifications and Typical Experience:
● Min 5+ years of experience working as a Senior System Engineer
● Experience in a multi-vendor environment
● Vendor-related certifications, such as Microsoft, AWS, and Azure, are highly regarded
Special Circumstances:
● As this role is integral to the operational management of Probe customers with the core operating hours are between 6am and 6pm Mon – Fri, however with some customers operating 24x7. It is expected that the incumbent will be required to work after-hours to deliver against project timelines.
● Interstate/International travel for support or installations
