Who we are

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale.

Working at Samsara means you’ll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that’s shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, and Equipment Monitoring. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.

About the role:

Samsara is hiring a Senior Supply Planner to oversee the hardware supply planning process for the global market. The Senior Supply Planner will be responsible for developing and maintaining rolling 12-month production, shipment, and capacity plans; working with Demand Planning, Global Ops Engineering, Production Procurement, Order Operations and Finance; and calculating the implications on financial liabilities and inventory levels. This is a highly visible role that offers an opportunity to make business-critical decisions that will improve customer service levels while minimizing inventory costs.

This is a remote role open to candidates residing in the US except Alaska, Austin Metro, Boulder Metro, California, Chicago Metro, Connecticut, Dallas Metro, Denver Metro, Houston Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Seattle Metro, and Washington, D.C.

You should apply if:
  • You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will result in real-world impact, helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, reduce emissions, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely.
  • You are the architect of your own career: If you put in the work, this role won't be your last at Samsara. We set up our employees for success and have built a culture that encourages rapid career development and countless opportunities to experiment and master your craft in a hyper growth environment.
  • You're energized by our opportunity: The vision we have to digitize large sectors of the global economy requires your full focus and best efforts to bring forth creative, ambitious ideas for our customers.
  • You want to be with the best: At Samsara, we win together, celebrate together and support each other. You will be surrounded by a high-caliber team that will encourage you to do your best.
In this role, you will:
  • Convert the demand plan into supply plans and targets by SKU, region, and DC, aligned to revenue and cost objectives.
  • Drive capacity planning with Global Ops Engineering: maintain rolling 12-month production and capacity plans and recommend tradeoffs when capacity or components are constrained.
  • Influence Clear to Build (CTB) for your portfolio: work with Production Procurement to confirm components and materials are available, and flag shortages early.
  • Publish supply targets to factories and VMI partners and track commits, ETDs, and landed supply against them.
  • Monitor weekly coverage across the full forward quarter to catch risk before it becomes shortage or excess, running simulations as needed to capture real-time supply chain changes.
  • Resolve risk with the right lever (rebalancing, transfers, air upgrades) alongside Order Operations and Production Procurement.
  • Partner with Demand Planning, NPI and Finance Analysis on demand changes, new product ramps, transitions and end-of-sale.
  • Plan VMI, ROP accessory, and refurbished supply while minimizing excess and obsolete material.
  • Report performance to targets and communicate supply risks to Operations leadership.
  • Evolve processes and tooling, using data and AI-assisted tools to remove manual work.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's operating principles as we scale globally.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or Economics.
  • 6+ years (or 4+ with a Master's) of combined experience in consulting and supply chain planning, supply planning, material planning, or inventory management.
  • Experience building supply plans against factory capacity and component constraints, including capacity planning and Clear to Build (component and material availability).
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to clearly lay out assumptions, risks and opportunities in logical models.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to synthesize information for a wide variety of stakeholders, from planners and factory contacts to executives.
  • Attention to detail while never losing sight of the big picture.
  • A proactive, positive approach to problem solving, and comfort with ambiguity, changing priorities and business volatility.
  • Working knowledge of ERP and planning systems (for example NetSuite and E2Open), Salesforce, and spreadsheet-based modeling.

An ideal candidate also has:

  • MBA or Master's degree in a related field.
  • Programming and data skills (SQL, Python) and experience with BI tools such as Databricks or Tableau.
  • Electronics or hardware manufacturing experience, ideally working with contract manufacturers or JDMs.
  • Experience with vendor-managed inventory, third-party logistics, or global multi-DC networks.
  • Experience with new product introductions, product transitions and end-of-life planning.
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools to improve planning workflows.
