About the Role
Uber is looking for a Senior Strategy & Operations Manager on the US&C Retail SMB Scaled Growth team to own SMB Scaled Success—how onboarded merchants get visibility, quality, and growth at scale without enterprise-style account management.
Retail SMBs drive differentiated local selection and strong unit economics, but many still lack the storefront visibility, catalog quality, and growth support needed to convert and retain. You will design and run scaled programs across categories (alcohol, florists, specialty foods, beauty, pets, Rest of Retail), pairing data analysis with program design and XFN execution across Product, Feed/Discovery, Catalog, Sales/DCO, Marketing, Ops, and Finance.
You will take initiatives from insight → playbook → scaled rollout and influence leadership with clear recommendations.
What You’ll Do
- Scaled Success programs: Design and run visibility/SOV, growth toolkits, integration self-help, and seasonal readiness programs that help onboarded SMBs grow.
- Quality & reliability: Own SMB levers for eCR, found rate, FFR, replacement, and defect—turning insights into playbooks that scale across the long tail.
- GB & retention post-FOC: Diagnose high vs. low performers after first order; run experiments and programs that lift SMB Gross Bookings and 28-day retention.
- XFN advocacy: Partner with Product, Feed, Catalog, Sales/DCO, and Marketing on SMB tradeoffs (including vs. tentpole ENT) and embed scaled success in roadmaps and ops rhythms.
- Scaled operating system: Build dashboards, scorecards, and partner workflows so DSC, ops, and self-serve channels deliver outcomes without 1:1 AM coverage.
Basic Qualifications
- Degree: Bachelor's degree is required
- Experience: 5–7 years in strategy, operations, growth, consulting, or merchant operations.
- Analytics: Strong problem-solving with data; SQL required; Excel/Sheets and visualization fluency.
- Execution & communication: Track record delivering cross-functional programs in ambiguity; clear written/verbal influence with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Marketplace / retail: On-demand grocery or retail experience; SMB vs. enterprise dynamics.
- Merchant / SMB growth: Merchant success, quality, discovery/visibility, or long-tail scaled programs.
- Advanced analytics: Advanced SQL and Tableau (or similar); self-serve analysis and metric validation.
- Quality or discovery: Familiarity with completion/found-rate/defects and/or feed/SOV concepts.
- AI leverage: Comfortable with ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Cursor (or similar) to increase productivity.
For New York City, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $131,000 per year - USD $145,000 per year.
