The Role

We're looking for a Real Word Evidence (RWE) Senior Strategist/Director to help us accomplish our mission to improve lives by learning from the experience of every cancer patient and help drive the next phase of Flatiron's RWE growth. Are you ready to be the next changemaker in cancer care?
What You'll Do
In this high-impact, high-visibility role, you'll work with multiple cross functional stakeholders in our Real World Evidence (RWE) Business, including our Product, Research Science, Research Oncology, and Life Sciences Partnerships teams, to evaluate growth and investment opportunities and help continuously evolve our 4 year growth strategy. Reporting to the Head of RWE Portfolio Strategy, you'll evaluate both incremental and net new business opportunities, develop robust business cases for investment, and work closely with product and our partnerships teams to advance opportunities into our product roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
  • Growth Opportunity Business Casing - Lead the development of business cases for new RWE growth opportunities supporting the expansion of Flatiron's data and analytics ecosystem.
  • Financial Modeling & Forecasting - Working with Strategic Finance, you'll build robust financial models to support investment decisions as well as help evolve of long-range financial forecasting for the RWE business.
  • Market Landscape - Continually evolve Flatiron's unified view of the oncology RWE market landscape including staying current on RWE trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities in oncology and digital health.
  • Strategic Planning - Support the Head of RWE Portfolio Strategy and RWE GM with annual strategic and operational planning for the RWE business unit as well as take on ad hoc special projects supporting the GM and Executive Team.Team Leadership (Future) - While initially an individual contributor role, you will have the opportunity to mentor and lead junior hires as the team grows.

This role will allow you to develop a broad and deep understanding of the use of and trends in the opportunities for RWE and digital health in oncology. It will be a high visibility role engaging directly with the Head of RWE Product, the RWE GM, and Chief Commercial Officer, and interfacing with a broad set of cross functional stakeholders from across the business. It will provide a great opportunity to advance your experience in business strategy and an opportunity to develop transferable skills toward leading business functions in your future career.
Who You Are
You have a passion for advancing clinical care and research for cancer patients and a mission driven professional. You are a collaborative problem-solver who values the opportunity to think strategically to identify areas for growth, yet are pragmatic to ensure those ideas have the best chance for reaching the market. You're an independent, driven, strategic thinker with at least 4-6 years of experience driving strategic investment and prioritization decisions, leading business cases, and learning and keeping a pulse on the oncology healthcare and healthtech market.
  • You have prior experience critically evaluating business opportunities, performing market landscape assessments, and developing business and/or investment cases for a product or services oriented health tech company or consultancy
  • You are deeply familiar with Real World Data and/or digital health space and players
  • You are deeply familiar with biopharma industry dynamics (e.g., biopharma value chain) and how data is used across the drug development life cycle
  • You have had success in high-visibility roles that have required a large amount of cross-functional collaboration and have developed specific skills to navigate and coordinate multiple stakeholders by influencing without direct authority. You enjoy finding the right people with the right expertise to build high functioning teams to tackle business challenges
  • You are self-motivated and are able to effectively prioritize multiple competing workstreams with competing deadlines. You know when to and are not hesitant to ask for help!
  • You have experience in building something new, are comfortable with the inherent ambiguity that entails, and have examples of taking disciplined risk and learning from failure.
  • You have exceptional written, presentation, and communication skills at all levels with an ability to be decisive and provide clear, data driven recommendations to senior leaders

Extra Credit
  • You have prior experience working in the health tech space in a client facing role -OR- in a Product Development role
  • You have prior experience in the field of oncology
  • Advanced Degree (MA/MS, MPH, MBA, MD, or PhD)

Job Compensation Range
Salary Range: $184,000.00 - $276,000.00
Preferred Primary Location: NY hub
The annual pay range reflected above for this position is based on the preferred primary location of the role which is listed in the job description. Salary ranges for other locations vary from the range reflected above. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. An annual bonus and equity may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
