Join Medtronic as a Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager and play a critical role in driving enterprise-wide procurement excellence. This position leads key Procure-to-Pay (P2P) workstreams focused on Price & Commercial Terms and Invoice Exception Management, in the Procure to Pay Value Stream. This role is expected to partner with cross-functional and cross-divisional teams to develop and execute Procure to Pay process improvements and strategies that optimize cost, procurement performance, risk, innovation, and supply continuity. The Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager will leverage understanding of the procure to pay process, technology, to drive operational efficiency, enhance supplier relationships, and deliver sustainable value across the organization. This is a highly visible role requiring strong strategic thinking, project leadership, supplier management, and negotiation expertise to support business objectives and improve business outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Transform and Modernize the Procure to Pay (P2P) process via process improvement and project management and sourcing expertise to cross-functional, cross-divisional teams to improve on-time payment, compliance, cost avoidance, savings and overall process efficiency. Primary focus is on the Invoice Exceptions and Price & Commercial Terms workstreams.

  • Facilitate these teams in the development and execution of long-term strategies that will prioritize service, quality, and financial commitments while enabling customer and patient support.

  • Develop team talent, foster belonging and create sustainable organizational capability.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required and a minimum of 7 years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management experience, including 5+ years of people leadership or team management experience or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including people leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success leading teams and influencing senior stakeholders in a global, matrixed organization

  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, Green Belt, or equivalent continuous improvement certification preferred

  • Demonstrated success driving process standardization, automation and digital transformation initiatives

  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Experience leading shared service organizations and large-scale operational transformations

  • Strong analytical, financial, and program management capabilities

  • Experience working in a large global organization with cross-regional sourcing responsibilities

  • Knowledge of Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Accounts Payable, Purchase Order management, invoice processing, supplier onboarding, and vendor management

  • Strong understanding of procurement controls, compliance requirements, SOX controls, and audit readiness

  • Experience developing and managing operational KPIs, SLAs, scorecards, and performance metrics

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$144,000.00 - $216,000.00


This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).
