Cloud Platform Team at Druva drives the backbone of everything SaaS related. This team designs and develops features that cater to both Customer facing needs and internal stakeholders, playing a pivotal role in evolving Druva's architecture, as the company scales further. About Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff SDET who brings strong engineering fundamentals, deep automation capability, and a passion for quality in distributed, cloud-based systems. This role involves designing test strategies, improving automation frameworks, and working closely with developers to ensure the reliability and security of complex backup workflows.You will contribute across the full lifecycle - from feature design and white-box testing to deployment and validation in cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Agile Collaboration: Work closely with the development team in an Agile environment to understand functional specifications and design requirements.
- Test Planning: Independently create comprehensive feature test plans aligned with development milestones and feature completion.
- Automation Frameworks: Leverage existing automation frameworks to automate feature tests and actively augment libraries to support new functionalities.
- End-to-End Ownership: Own the complete test execution cycle for user stories, ensuring high-quality delivery.
- Testing Strategy: Perform a mix of automated, manual, white-box, and black-box testing.
- Infrastructure Management: Create, maintain, and document testbed setups and environments.
- Quality Assurance: Timely reporting, tracking, and updating of issues and test cases using management tools.
- Cross-Functional Delivery: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality benchmarks are met throughout the development lifecycle.
Must Have Skills:
The engineer must demonstrate proficiency in leveraging AI for routine tasks, including generating functional test cases from functional specifications or precise prompts, and subsequently automating those test cases using AI.
Operating Systems & Core Concepts:
- Knowledge of working with Docker, Linux, Windows
- Good knowledge of networking and cloud architecture fundamentals, preferably with exposure to AWS and/or Azure services (networking, storage, compute).
Programming & Automation:
- Proficiency in Python or Java (Python preferred).
- Strong Shell scripting ability.
- Hands-on experience with SQL databases.
Testing skills & Tools:
- Strong experience in REST API testing and backend automation.
- Experience in UI automation (Selenium / Playwright preferred)
- Proficiency with tools like Git, Jira, XRay, Jenkins etc.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills.
- Exposure to Load and Performance testing and related tools
Desirable Skills
- Understanding of CI/CD Pipelines.
- Experience testing workloads on AWS/Azure, including basic resource setup, debugging and monitoring (Cloudwatch etc).
- Exposure to generative AI using Cursor or similar tools.
Qualification:
- B.Tech / B.E / M.E./ M.Tech or equivalent.
