The role
Join Google DeepMind to build cutting-edge Gemini applications that will redefine AI interaction for billions. You'll accelerate development using the latest AI models, collaborating with AI to create high-fidelity web and mobile UIs for diverse use cases.
You will be involved in building new Gemini features from front-end server to mobile client end-to-end. This role is responsible for:
- Delivering compelling new features efficiently, prioritizing performance and seamless user experiences.
- Driving collaboration with cross-functional teams (design, product, modeling specialists) to translate user needs into intuitive, valuable app features.
- Designing and implementing scalable app functionality, enforcing development best practices and optimization.
The team focuses on prioritization, lightweight process (one-pager designs, tasklists), and fast execution, ensuring your work reaches users quickly. Gemini is a top Google effort for 2025, and you'll be a key contributor.
About you
We seek individuals who thrive in ambiguity, are flexible, and adaptable to work on any project that moves prototypes forward. You should be willing to invent novel solutions and change course when ideas don't work out.
To succeed as a Software Engineer on the Gemini App team, we look for:
- BSc, MSc or PhD/DPhil degree in computer science, mathematics, machine learning or similar experience working in industry
- Proven knowledge of Java/Kotlin/Objective-C/Swift
- A passion for Artificial Intelligence
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with experiment frameworks
- Ability to work with global teams (Mountain View, Zurich, Bangalore)
In addition to this, following would be an advantage:
- App development experience (Android or iOS)
- Proven track record of shipping world-class web applications at scale
- Deep understanding of modern web technologies, architecture, and performance optimization
- Experience developing and deploying user-facing LLM applications
- Experience in user metrics logging and analysis
- Cross-functional collaboration experience
- Prior experience working with product teams
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $248,000 - $349,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
