The Ethernet and Networking Solutions Team develops advanced technologies for next-generation Software-Defined systems in industrial, robotics and automotive applications.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Product Definition Engineer to drive the definition, roadmap, and market success of our next generation Ethernet PHY portfolio. In this role, you will act as the technical bridge between Customers, Product Line Management, Marketing, System Architecture, and R&D, translating emerging market needs into differentiated semiconductor products that create customer value and drive business growth.
As a recognized technical expert, you will influence product strategy, shape technology roadmaps, lead customer engagements, and define innovative Ethernet networking solutions across multiple product generations. You will leverage your deep technical expertise and market insight to identify emerging opportunities, anticipate future industry needs, and guide product investments that strengthen our competitive position.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape and guide product development from concept through market introduction, ensuring customer requirements are translated into successful and differentiated products.
- Own and influence product roadmap development, portfolio planning, and future product definition activities across multiple product generations.
- Lead the collection, analysis, and prioritization of Customer Requirement Specifications (CRS), ensuring alignment with market needs and successful translation into Product Requirement Specifications (PRS) in collaboration with R&D.
- Represent the company at customer workshops, industry forums, and technical conferences as appropriate.
- Drive alignment across Marketing, Applications, Design, Systems Engineering, Project Management, Quality, and Operations to ensure successful product execution.
- Lead competitive analysis, market assessment, and technology benchmarking to identify product opportunities, differentiation strategies, and future investment areas.
- Drive technical evaluations and trade-off analyses across architecture, performance, cost, reliability, safety, security, and scalability dimensions.
- Provide technical leadership during product introduction, customer qualification, design-in, and launch activities to ensure successful market adoption.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Typically requires 12+ years of relevant industry experience with a Bachelor's degree.
- Proven experience in Product Definition, Systems Engineering, Technical Marketing, Application Engineering, Product Management, or a related technical leadership role within the semiconductor industry.
- Deep knowledge of Ethernet networking standards, protocols, and architectures, including IEEE 802.3, SPE, TSN, MACsec, and Ethernet PHYs.
- System modeling experience using Matlab/Simulink or comparable tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to evaluate complex technical and business trade-offs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to influence diverse stakeholders, customers, and cross-functional teams globally.
