Job Title: Senior Staff Platform Engineer - Solutions
Location: Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore
Business & Team: CTO - GHS
Impact & Contribution: The Senior Staff Platform Engineer - Solution role under DSO Enablement Crew plays an important role in providing technical solutions and end to end expertise to multiple domains such as Hosting services, End User Experience, Networking, Cloud adoption and Enabling Technology Practices like DevSecOps. The successful candidate will be a part of a team of high performing Engineers who are accountable for providing architectural solutions across the different Business units in CommBank.
Roles & responsibilities:
You will be expected to perform the following tasks and responsibilities in a manner consistent with CBA’s Values and People Capabilities.
- Architect and develop solutions, system designs according to business strategies, standards and processes.
- Engage and provide technical consultative assistance to business and engineering stakeholders including application team, infrastructure, database and network engineers for requirement gathering and understanding solution requirements.
- Provide Infrastructure, Cloud and technology-based outcomes.
- Create the solution designs and documentation required to outline technical components needed to run banking applications.
- Resolve complex problems and issues in the Solution design and assess potential risks and determine possible solutions.
- Accountability to ensure solution designs and utility of provided services meet the ongoing technology requirements for business, projects, and IT&T stakeholders
Essential skills:
We use a broad range of tools and technologies. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team.
- 15-18 years of in-depth experience across one or more domains such as Networking, Infrastructure, Linux/Windows, Databases, Cloud, VMware, DevSecOps & Microservices architecture.
- Strong background in Operations/Infrastructure Architecture/Design
- Knowledge on modernising applications on public cloud especially on AWS.
- Experience with modern Cloud focused architectures augmented with domain specific skills, experience and exposure across certain disciplines such as DevSecOps, GitOps, AWS, Azure, Service Management, SDN, Networking, End User Experience.
- Excellent understanding of the infrastructure that runs .NET applications – IIS, Web Servers, Kestrel & Containers.
- Experience with Infrastructure as code and automating manual tasks
- A deep understanding of business strategic planning and consulting with delivery teams
- Hands on experience in facilitating and contributing to transitioning target architecture from current to desired state across multiple projects
- Experience in developing both conceptual and technical models to identify areas for IT service standardisation, use and development, to meet business objectives
- Experience with Agile delivery framework, and infrastructure transformation.
Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
