The Role
We're looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Staff NPI Mechanical Engineer to develop manufacturing processes and deliver production readiness for next-generation AI computing solutions. You'll serve as a senior technical leader for the industrialization of complex mechanical and opto-mechanical assemblies, transforming engineering designs into robust, scalable manufacturing processes capable of supporting high-volume production.
Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Global Supply Management, Quality, and manufacturing partners, you'll develop, validate, and optimize manufacturing processes while driving products from concept through production readiness. You'll be responsible for delivering capable manufacturing processes that meet yield, quality, cycle time, and production performance objectives before successful transfer to Manufacturing Operations.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver manufacturing processes: Partner with contract manufacturers to develop and deliver robust manufacturing processes for complex mechanical and opto-mechanical assemblies from concept through production readiness.
Deliver production readiness: Validate manufacturing processes, process capability, and manufacturing readiness to enable successful product launches and seamless transfer to Manufacturing Operations.
Lead product industrialization: Provide technical leadership across Engineering, Global Supply Management, Quality, Manufacturing, and contract manufacturing partners to industrialize new products from development through high-volume manufacturing.
Deliver manufacturing performance: Meet or exceed established goals for yield, quality, process capability, cycle time, and throughput prior to transfer to Manufacturing Operations.
Enable manufacturing scale: Develop scalable manufacturing processes, tooling, fixturing, automation, and material flow that support long-term production growth.
Resolve complex technical issues: Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing issues, using data and structured problem-solving to improve process performance and product quality.
Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or another technical field.
10+ years of engineering experience in New Product Introduction and Process Engineering within advanced manufacturing environments.
Subject matter expertise in mechanical and opto-mechanical assembly processes, including manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixturing, material flow, manufacturing automation, and final assembly, test, and pack.
Deep understanding of manufacturing process development, process capability, process failure mode and effects analysis, and process validation.
Proven success developing manufacturing processes from concept through production readiness.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional product industrialization efforts through technical influence and sound engineering judgment.
Proven ability to partner with contract manufacturers to develop and validate manufacturing processes that enable high-volume manufacturing.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders across functions and organizations.

What We Do
The latest generation of AI models achieve breakthrough performance by using vastly more tokens to solve complex problems. As frontier models become more sophisticated, demand is compounding faster than today’s infrastructure can scale. Even the most dominant players, with full-stack control across silicon, software, and supply chains, are unable to solve this within the existing architecture. Inherent constraints in physical design and packaging mean a GPU-based approach is incapable of simultaneously delivering high throughput and high interactivity at low cost. Continuing AI’s advance and making it available to everyone requires a new compute paradigm. One that can overcome the fundamental limits of memory, energy, and speed that define today’s systems. If you like working on difficult and consequential problems, we want you at OLIX. We have offices in London, Austin, Toronto, San Francisco and Bristol.
