In this position, you will serve as a technical authority for the design, development, analysis, integration, and verification of electrical systems and hardware for products and platforms. This role contributes to product development by establishing electrical engineering methodologies, advancing electrical technologies, and leading the organization's most complex electrical engineering initiatives that improve product performance, reliability, and mission success.
Working cross-functionally with electrical, mechanical, systems, software, manufacturing, integration and test, quality, and program teams, this role supports electrical design, analysis, integration, and verification throughout the product development lifecycle.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish electrical engineering methodologies, electrical architectures, interface standards, power distribution strategies, and circuit design approaches supporting complex products and mission requirements.
- Define electrical design standards, analysis methods, PCB design practices, and technology roadmaps that strengthen product performance and engineering consistency.
- Evaluate system architectures, interface requirements, emerging technologies, and customer needs while providing technical direction for major development programs.
- Lead the organization's most complex electrical analyses, hardware integration efforts, and qualification activities supporting major development programs.
- Evaluate electrical performance, simulation results, test data, and system interactions, directing solutions that improve product reliability and mission performance.
- Approve electrical verification approaches, analytical methods, and engineering recommendations supporting product development and certification.
- Serve as the technical authority for electrical engineering, advising engineering, manufacturing, integration and test, quality, and program teams on design and engineering decisions.
- Develop engineering standards, design methodologies, and interface requirements supporting critical engineering decisions.
- Mentor Electrical Engineers while establishing best practices, electrical engineering methodologies, and technical standards across development programs.
- Establish electrical engineering best practices, design standards, analysis methods, and configuration management processes across programs.
- Evaluate engineering processes, electrical designs, verification methods, and customer requirements while recommending improvements that strengthen engineering capabilities.
- Lead initiatives that enhance electrical performance, engineering efficiency, product reliability, manufacturability, and long-term technical capability.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in board-level electronics design, analysis, and test.
- Expert knowledge of electrical engineering principles, circuit analysis, analog and digital electronics, power electronics, and power distribution.
- Extensive experience developing electrical engineering methodologies, electrical architectures, PCB designs, and hardware solutions for complex aerospace products.
- Strong understanding of signal integrity, EMI/EMC, hardware integration, qualification testing, system interfaces, and multidisciplinary engineering integration.
- Proven ability to act as a technical authority on complex electrical engineering initiatives while guiding engineers and promoting engineering best practices.
- Exercises sound judgment when establishing electrical engineering methodologies, resolving the organization's most complex technical challenges, and advising leadership on strategic engineering decisions.
- Proven success in debugging, root cause analysis, and design reviews.
- Strong working knowledge of adjacent fields, such as software and mechanical, that guides hardware design and system design.
- Expert-level proficiency in electronics design tools such as Altium.
- Extensive lab experience for bring-up and verification of new hardware.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
