The Senior Staff Electrical Engineer, Electrical Assembly is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end manufacturing and electrical integration of large-scale data center Generators and Enclosures. This role ensures that all internal wiring, control panels, and power distribution systems are assembled to the highest standards of safety and quality before leaving the factory. You will lead a team of electrical assembly technicians, providing technical guidance, performing quality audits, and driving continuous improvement in the assembly process.
Work Mode: Onsite
Location: Kenosha facility to start (initial ~6 months to stand up the process at site), then primary location at Mosel facility at N7650 County Rd LS, Sheboygan, WI, 53083.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Technical Oversight & Compliance
Standards Adherence: Ensure all enclosure wiring and industrial control panels comply with UL 508A, NFPA 70 (NEC), and NFPA 79 standards.
Quality Auditing: Perform point-to-point wiring inspections and verify crimp/solder integrity according to IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
Testing Oversight: Supervise factory acceptance testing (FAT), including continuity testing, insulation resistance (megger) testing, and ground-bond testing.
Documentation: Review and sign off on production redlines, ensuring all as-built documentation accurately reflects the final assembly.
2. Team Leadership & Personnel Management
Skill Development: Conduct hands-on training for staff on complex wiring methods, proper tool usage (e.g., hydraulic crimpers, torque wrenches), and blueprint reading.
Safety Leadership: Enforce strict adherence to LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures and PPE requirements within the electrical assembly bay.
3. Operational Excellence
Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in the assembly flow and lead Kaizen events or Lean initiatives to reduce waste and improve cycle times.
Material Coordination: Work with the supply chain team to ensure all electrical components (breakers, busbars, wire harnesses) are staged and ready for production.
Root Cause Analysis: Lead investigations into any electrical failures found during testing to prevent recurrence in future builds.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Required (ABET Accredited).
Minimum 5–10 years in industrial electrical assembly or manufacturing. Advanced ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical GA drawings. Deep understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) as it pertains to industrial machinery and equipment.
Experience with Modular Data Center (MDC) assembly or large-scale power skids preferred
Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing principles (VSM, 5S, Standard Work) preferred.
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems for tracking production progress and labor hours preferred.
Certifications:
IPC/WHMA-A-620 (CIS or CIT) highly preferred.
UL 508A MTR (Master Technical Representative) or equivalent experience in a UL-certified panel shop preferred.
