Job Purpose: Senior Accountants take ownership of reporting costs, productivity, margins and expenditures for companies and organizations.
Summary of Essential Job Duties
- Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
- Calculate and Record monthly Subscription Based Revenue
- Prepare and maintain monthly customer allowance accruals related to coops and other promotional related allowances
- Assist with the recording of payroll, benefits and bonus entries and accruals.
- Assist with Fixed Assets and Leases entries and research.
- Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
- Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.
- Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
- Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
- Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting/finance.
- CPA preferred but not required.
- Experience with financial reporting requirements.
- Strong financial analysis skills.
- Strong organizational and stress management skills.
- Must be an outstanding communicator, both written and verbal, and have established skills in accuracy, organization, and working in a high-volume environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
- Highly detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines
- Ability to handle AR reserve accounts and promotional rebates with proficiency with significant customers (Walmart, Bass Pro, Academy, etc.)
- Able to maneuver within Excel with Pivot Tables, lookups, etc.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 2-5 years experience in accounting/finance
- CPA preferred
- Experience with financial reporting requirements
