As the Senior Staff Accountant for our global toy business, you will be at the heart of our corporate finance team! Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, you will take ownership of essential general ledger activities, ensure seamless financial reporting, and proactively champion process improvements across multiple subsidiaries. In this highly collaborative role, you will partner closely with cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful financial insights and ad hoc analysis that drive senior leadership decisions. What You Will Do:
- Manage the company’s accounting and internal controls for specific general ledgers, oversee global accounts, and execute the monthly close process for various subsidiaries
- Prepare and review detailed monthly account reconciliations, including receivables, payables, and prepaids, while partnering with AR and AP teams to resolve issues and streamline workflows
- Drive continuous improvements in the financial close calendar by identifying process efficiencies and assisting in the refinement of internal reporting tools and dashboards
- Collaborate with global business partners to deliver accurate, timely financial data and support senior leadership with ad hoc financial analysis to enhance business visibility
- Participate actively in internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation and comprehensive technical accounting support
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
- 5+ years of progressive experience in financial or accounting roles
- Strong foundational knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), internal controls, and financial reporting standards
- Proven, hands-on experience managing detailed, transactional-level accounting tasks, recording entries, and closing accounting books and records
- Demonstrated ability to proactively identify complex accounting issues, perform thorough research, and present viable, strategic solutions
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate across cross-functional teams
- Prior exposure to internal management reporting or external financial reporting workflows
Nice To Have:
- An active CPA certification and prior experience working as a technical accountant is a plus
- Hands-on experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and advanced financial reporting tools

The base salary may vary based on experience, role tenure, performance, industry, and location. Eligibility for the annual performance incentive may apply. Jazwares is a multi-state employer, so the salary range may not apply to other states.
