Iron Mountain is seeking an experienced Senior Structured Query Language Database Administrator to join our Service Transition Global Information Technology team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance optimization of critical Structured Query Language Server Relational Database Management Systems to ensure the 24x7 availability and security of our global corporate applications.
The Service Transition Global Information Technology team operates as a core operational pillar, supporting global infrastructure, driving continuous database service improvements, and maintaining alignment with Enterprise Information Technology strategy.
What You’ll DoIn this role, you will:
Database Infrastructure & Availability: Configure, maintain, and monitor Structured Query Language Server databases and servers using native troubleshooting tools, ensuring high performance, 24x7 system availability, and reliable disaster recovery capabilities.
Performance Optimization & Automation: Refine regular operational workflows, automate routine database processes, and partner directly with software developers on query performance tuning and database schema refinement.
Team Engagement & Technical Leadership: Implement enterprise database standards, resolve technical escalations, and mentor team members to foster technical excellence across global IT operations.
Governance & Service Reporting: Produce and present accurate management reports tracking Key Performance Indicators, Key Risk Indicators, deliverable statuses, and compliance initiatives to senior technology leadership.
The ideal candidate will have:
10+ years of experience in Microsoft Structured Query Language Server Database Administration.
Strong knowledge of full Structured Query Language installation, Always On Availability Groups, backup and recovery models, Performance Tuning and Optimization, and High Availability/Disaster Recovery architectures.
Technical Proficiency in Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Structured Query Language Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and Structured Query Language Server Integration Services (SSIS).
Proven ability in root-cause problem solving, managing production escalations, multi-tasking across global projects, and executing scheduled maintenance or release deployments after hours.
Certifications: Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or Most Valuable Professional (MVP) credentials are a strong plus.
