Team Overview:
The NextGen Network Team is at the heart of Mastercard's transformation, driving innovation and modernization to ensure the network remains resilient, flexible, and competitive in a rapidly evolving payments landscape.
This team is responsible for building Mastercard's next-generation unified switch, designed to handle all payment and related data flows across transaction types and payment schemes.
Role Summary
We are building a Next Generation Payments Network and are looking for a senior individual to own the end-to-end documentation, packaging, and positioning of the large-scale Next Gen platform and the products built on top of it. This role sits at the intersection of technology, product, and executive communication, ensuring the platform is understandable, consumable, and scalable across internal and external stakeholders.
This role will also work at capturing and evangelizing the Next Gen Network strategy, huge potential and benefits, as well as internally marketing its capabilities to market-facing stakeholders by providing consultancy and solutioning to enable new product offers, across rails, credentials and regions. The individual will help define long-term platform expansion strategy, channeling to Next Gen Product & Platform teams the required evolutions collected from the consultancy and solutioning activities. The individual will capture the Next Gen roadmap to feed market-facing stakeholders that are already, or would be, relying on Next Gen. The individual will leverage the Next Gen SME's to provide best class support to the markets.
The goal is to scale the usage of Next Generation Network assets with a particular emphasis on market-specific needs.
Key Responsibilities
Create clear, structured documentation of the Next Gen platform, including:

• Package documentation into usable artifacts (playbooks, flow diagrams, capability maps, reference materials) for the platform capabilities (access, auth/clear/settle, services), flows (real-time and batch), as well as products built on top of the platform (immediacy, network expansion)
• Identify non-productized platform capabilities and highlight opportunities for future productization or commercialization
• Work closely with product architects, platform teams, and commercial partners to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Ensure documentation is kept current as the platform evolves
• Individual may have to own executive-level communications related to the platform:
o Prepare materials for executive committees, senior leadership, and market forums
o Support strategic storytelling for platform expansion and roadmap discussions
Translate complex technical constructs into cohesive narratives for:
• Internal product and engineering teams
• Market and regional stakeholders
• Senior executives
Provide consulting and solutioning support to market-facing teams looking at benefit from the Next Gen platform capabilities:
• Communicate Next Gen capabilities, roadmap and approaches clearly to markets and leadership
• Support commercialization and internal adoption of Next Gen capabilities across regions, rails, and use cases.
• Support market-facing teams in refining their requirements and provide Next Gen consultancy to those teams for identifying high-level solution(s). Engage Next Gen SME's as needed.
• Redirect to another product team if there is already an existing solution that satisfies the needs.
• Accompany the market-facing teams up to intake
All About You
• Experience documenting and packaging large-scale technology platforms (e.g., fintech, cloud platforms, enterprise software)
• Strong ability to map workflows and end-to-end value chains
• Proven track record translating technical content into clear, structured narratives
• Knowledge of payment industry, market landscape, competition and card processing systems (authorization, clearing and settlement) is a big plus.
• Desire to dive deep and learn about our technology, system structure, and rules
• Experience working with cross-functional (product, engineering, commercial) and geographically distributed teams
• Ability to interact and build relationships with all levels of leadership across the organization and with internal and external clients
Preferred Background
• Technology, fintech, payments, cloud platforms, or enterprise software
• Prior experience documenting platforms and workflows, cloud services, core banking platforms, enterprise APIs
• Experience supporting executive or senior-stakeholder communications
Core Skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication (English required)
• Strong analytical and structuring skills
• Strong interest in deeply understanding the operational characteristics of products
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and shaping content from incomplete inputs
• Ability to navigate complex ecosystems and constraints with tenacity, pragmatism, and analytical rigor
• Consulting-style mindset: confident engaging with senior stakeholders.
