JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Specialist, Communication & Change Management will play a key role in ensuring that projects (change initiatives) meet objectives on time and are according to budgets. This consultant will focus on the people side of change – including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organizational structures. The primary responsibility will be to create and implement change management strategies and operational plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance. Responsibilities will also include executing and supporting the organization in streamlining process.

The Senior Specialist, Communication & Change Management will work to drive faster adoption, higher ultimate utilization and greater proficiency of the changes that impact employees in the organization to increase benefit realization, value creation, and the achievement of results and outcomes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and lead implementation of internal HR communications strategy to drive stakeholder engagement with and understanding of HR processes and change initiatives. Ensure initiatives are effectively planned, executed and delivered on time and within budget. Work closely with stakeholders to define scope, manage resources, and monitor progress and success.
  • Empowering action and mitigating resistance by removing barriers, identifying what support, resources and tools are needed to facilitate stakeholders through the transition. • identifying quick wins that are: cost-effective, easily attained, readily communicated and celebrated.
  • Create and implement change management plans including business impact assessments, stakeholder engagement and communication plans, evaluation plans, sponsor roadmaps, training plans, sustainability plans and resistance/coaching plans.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align change initiatives with business goals.
  • Develop and maintain change management documentation.
  • Identify, analyze and prepare risk mitigation tactics.
  • Work alongside the HR Project Team, to successfully implement the engagement project plan and encourage the highest possible response rates.
  • Create the annual Employee Engagement Strategy including goals and measures.
  • Continuously evaluate and identify ways to strengthen and integrate the employee engagement process into our systems and culture.
  • Consult with stakeholders to complete a team diagnosis that identifies the symptoms, causes, outcomes, resources and effects of the team challenges.
  • Collaboratively design the change process based on research, behavioral science and knowledge of best practices for improving team dynamics and performance.
  • Create the conditions for positive change and deliver effective large and small team interventions for diverse participants; help clients draw meaning, understanding and learning from the change experience.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, organizational development or related field
  • 5 - 6 years’ experience providing organizational development and internal consultation and facilitation in a complex organization.
  • Strong understanding of change management principles, methodologies, and tools.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION:

  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing change initiatives.
  • Ability to develop and execute communication plans.
  • Must be a team player and be able to work collaboratively with and through others.
  • Acute business acumen, and an understanding of organizational issues and challenges.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Standard office environment; required to spend time on manufacturing plant floor which includes walking / standing as needed.
