What will your responsibilities be?

  • Lead all sourcing activities in coordination with relevant Adient functions to drive a competitive advantage for Adient with financially stable suppliers.
  • Leverage of purchases across all business units and global programs.
  • Ensure the sourcing will be completed in line with given nomination time deadline costbook, quality requirements, OEM recoveries, delivery plan according to program deliverables and commodity strategies.
  • Contribution meeting or exceeding profit plan goals related to the EMEA Tubes Commodity including cost savings, economics, quality, supplier rationalization, working capital improvements and other key metrics through market sourcing benchmarks.
  • Support purchasing strategies for the EMEA Tubes Commodity.
  • Support of proper Make vs Buy decisions

Which qualifications are we looking for in potential employees?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain or related technical field.
  • Several years purchasing experience, in automotive industry preferred.
  • Metal and Tube commodity experience preferred
  • Negotiation skills and knowledge of different approaches and leverages to suppliers
  • Understanding of purchasing tools and practice.
  • Ability to gather information, analyze data, prepare and lead negotiations as well as deliver a recommendation.
  • PC knowledge (MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and cost analysis knowledge.
  • Profound SAP knowledge.
  • Ability to cooperate with people of different levels inside / outside the company and to interact. with people to reach team goals and business objectives.
  • Ability to recognize and respond to internal customer expectations with sense of urgency.
  • Some travel may be occurring.
