Position Summary
Location: Palm Beach Gardens, FL 
Schedule: Monday through Friday. Hybrid 3/2 schedule available after 90 days
Salary: Up to $100,000 + Performance Incentives for Scopes Sold

The Sr. Solution Design role exists to bridge the gap between client needs and technical delivery by translating business requirements into clear, accurate, and actionable scopes of work. This role partners closely with account managers, vCIOs, and technical teams to design solutions that are not only technically sound but also aligned with client goals, budgets, and environments. The Sr. Solution Designer ensures what’s scoped can be delivered—efficiently, securely, and with minimal rework.

They serve as a key strategist, architect, and consultant, playing a critical role in delivering technical clarity and project success.

Key Responsibilities for Senior Solution Design Engineer

• Translating user stories into technical scopes for a variety of IT projects (e.g., server upgrades, firewall installs, cloud migrations)
• Scoping and documenting solutions that align with best practices and the company’s standard stack
• Collaborating with vCIOs, account managers, and engineers to validate feasibility, timelines, and budgets
• Developing and maintaining repeatable solution templates for common project types
• Driving solution consistency across engagements to reduce delivery variance
• Conducting discovery sessions with internal teams or clients to gather business and technical requirements
• Identifying risks or technical gaps in proposed solutions and escalating when needed
• Advising on product or technology fit as part of the pre-sales or planning process
• Participating in occasional client-facing meetings to support scoping accuracy and expectation alignment

Key Responsibilities & Technical Requirements:

• This role requires broad IT experience rather than deep specialization. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with most of the following:
  • Virtualization – VMware, Hyper-V
  • Networking – Firewalls (Fortinet, SonicWall, Meraki), switching, VLANs, site-to-site VPNs
  • Servers & Storage – Windows Server (AD, DNS, DHCP, file/print), local and cloud storage
  • Cloud Platforms – Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Exchange Online
  • Backup/Disaster Recovery – Veeam or comparable BCDR solutions
  • Security – Understanding of MFA, EDR, email security, and access controls
  • Familiarity with MSP tools (RMM, PSA platforms, IT Glue or similar documentation systems) is a plus
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong documentation and technical writing skills
  • Hands-on implementation is not the primary function, but the candidate must be able to design realistic, technically sound scopes that align with delivery best practices.

Education & Experience Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 3+ years in MSP or related IT industry
