The Senior Solution Architect defines the architecture and technical direction for 7-Eleven’s Marketing Technology (MarTech) ecosystem, spanning data, decisioning, content, activation, and measurement across Retail Media (RMN), CRM, Personalization, and Web. This role designs the target-state architecture, including the orchestration/enrichment layer and a business-facing decisioning capability, and establishes the integration patterns, standards, and governance that turn a fragmented set of platforms into a cohesive, scalable capability. • Design the orchestration/enrichment layer and business-facing decisioning capability, and the integration patterns that connect them to channels.
  • Lead build-vs-buy assessments and produce architecture recommendations, reference designs, and decision documentation for leadership alignment.
  • Establish integration standards, data/API contracts, identity resolution, and governance to reduce fragmentation and duplication.
  • Partner with engineering and data teams on solution designs, technical reviews, and delivery sequencing.
  • Ensure architectural decisions meet security, privacy, compliance, scalability, and reliability requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship across MarTech work streams and reduce keyperson and single-platform risk.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

EDUCATION: Bachelors/4 Yr Degree

CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES: Cloud architecture certification (AWS or Azure) preferred; TOGAF a plus.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Deep experience architecting distributed, cloud-based data and application systems at enterprise scale.
  • Strong knowledge of MarTech/AdTech ecosystems: CDP/identity, decisioning/personalization, CRM (SFMC), CMS (Contentstack), and retail media.
  • Experience with data platforms (Databricks), streaming (Kafka), reverse-ETL/activation (Hightouch), and identity (LiveRamp/UID2).
  • Proven ability to lead build-vs-buy evaluations and to define integration contracts and standards.
  • Strong understanding of security, privacy, and regulatory compliance for customer data.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills across technical and business audiences.

What We Do

7-Eleven introduced the world to convenience. And in return, the world made us the #1 convenience retailer. It started with a simple idea – give customers what they want, when and where they want it. That was 1927. And what started on a single ice dock in Dallas, Texas, has since grown to more than 70,000 locations in 18 countries around the globe. The idea may have been simple, but it started a retail revolution.
