THE ROLE & THE TEAM

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will contribute to the success of the Web Platform Team in Lounge by Zalando. Your contributions will drive more effective decision-making across the entire platform development lifecycle, enhancing the scalability and accelerating the growth of the Lounge business.

The Web Platform team empowers Zalando Lounge developers by providing a robust, scalable platform that ensures consistency, simplifies workflows, and fosters collaboration. As an enabling partner to cross-functional Product Teams, we drive innovation and set new standards in web excellence, enabling the creation of exceptional, customer-focused web experiences.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• You will be part of the Web Platform team, building solutions for Lounge by Zalando’s web applications.

• Together with your team, you will develop solutions not only for customers but also for your fellow frontend engineers. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to understand the business context and translate requirements into technical designs.

• Act like an owner by taking up a challenge, work towards reducing ambiguity, and break the work down into manageable tasks.

• Lean on your web experience and skill set, develop robust, performant and maintainable code.

• Share and develop your expertise with your team to deliver the best user experience to our customers

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

• At least 3+ years of experience with React, Typescript, HTML5, CSS, StyledComponents and Nodejs

• Ability to deploy and operate applications in a cloud infrastructure. You care about observability, automated tests, and fast delivery

• Having a passion for usability, accessibility and an eye for good design

• Proficient in debugging frontend code

• Web Components, Atomic Design, Service Workers, Isomorphic Rendering are more than buzz words for you
